Badoo: 0/5
Not for Malaysians I feel. All I managed to swipe is foreigners :/
Tinder: 1/5
It was the first dating app I tried, I think this was one of the "og" dating app in the market anyway. But bad experience. Most of the girls there are looking for dtf and what's worst is there are way too many scammers and fake profile. Didnt really like how people can put a cartoon pic or animal pic etc. I felt like girls there are only there for the grams "follow me on IG: xx to know more about me
FB Dating: 1/5
The user pool is a mixture of locals and foreigners, also felt like users there doesnt put effort on their profiles (ie: anyhow snap one pic and put in). Worst is I always see users who are mutual friend of my friends, quite awkward that it is displayed there somehow...
Tantan: 2/5
100% Chinese-speaking user pool. As a Malay who is seeking more friends from various race, it is quite hard to find people to communicate with you, and quite hard to get likes. Even if you get likes, you might need to use google translate to talk to them. Other than that, most chats I got was asking you to download another casino/live streaming app
Hinge: 3/5
Ok this app is not avai in Malaysia afaik. But I stay in JB and work in SG so I am also putting this in. Hinge looks like an atas version of Tinder imo. They also have an audio prompt on the profile. Girls there are realllly pretty and put effort to put their pics
CMB: 3.5/5
Overall a decent dating app, for those looking for serious relationship kononnya. But the drawback is...bagels are only given every noon :/ Great thing is there is not much empty bio since you are somewat obligated to fill in the profile. All the girls I met is quite friendly albeit i did not spark with any of them. Felt quite hard to get match due to limited bagels tho. Also limited likes (look screenshot). Been playing...I think around 2 years now? Only 95 likes? Also another expensive premium :/
Omi: 4/5
Started playing this app early this year, so far it is okayish. They have verified profiles only option so i think it's quite ok la. One thing I like is you can replace omi app logo with another logo in your phone (hey, i want to play it during working hours and not letting my colleague see that the notifications are from omi lol
Bumble: 4/5
Bumble is one of the app that everyone in my social circle calls it an app who those looking for serious relationship too. So far, I don't deny that and people I have managed to swipe or even match seems like from professional career. Most people here speak English too. Girls I seen look okay too, looks real. I also like the "verified profile only" filter as well. But the only issue is "ladies message first" might not really work in Malaysia! I think the society teach us that guys must take the initiative etc too much and seems like most girls I matched with are shy!...so far, I have decent matches, but at times, girls I matched doesnt know how to start a convo, hence I am getting "empty successful" match if you get what I mean. The Premium is also quite expensive compared to other dating app (RM110 if bought for 1 month). I've also met several people here, altho it seems that people I met are really genuine and those who chat are really those who take initiative/not shy (had one date where during first date...she talked about our future which honestly freaks me out abit haha
