chips and a broken hinge is a different case,thats like the casing itself has metal fatigue,hairline cracks? this can be caused by the user unknowingly its 2 different things bro.

Its definitely not a hardware defect,for your peace of mind bring to a service centre then just to be sure. Not really perfect la,its man made,how could it be perfect,even a BMW 7 series thats worth 700+++, also might have scratches and chipped paint,its normal mate.
