Conservative mode can last 2.5 hours only? That's not alot.

Are all laptops like this nowadays?
*
Conservative mode is not power saving mode.
it is for prolonging battery life.
The battery is only charged to 60% max in conservative mode.

Thanks for reply boss... looks like it's quite acceptable for gaming laptop at brightness of 100%...

for the lcd display, which specification you choose ? like 60hz, 120hz or 144hz ?
*
Yeah quite acceptable... I think can go to at least 5 hours on 100% battery and 100% brightness (youtube, browsing, typing)
My display come with 144hz... ready to ship stock if I remember correctly...
The cheaper 120hz is better for 1650ti if gaming at 1080p.
But have to wait more than 8 weeks to receive.
Luckily I got very good deal with my purchase.

I used to be a PC gamer. My last built PC was in 2015. My last laptop was 2016. I am currently using a recycled workstation HP Z400 from 2011. I think it's about time I upgrade to my next PC. Yes, I am kedekut that I wait till the tech gap is big enough before jumping on.

I've been eyeing Illegear Onyx V R7 4800H (RTX 3060) that goes for around RM5.2k.

I know I don't really need RTX 3060 because I don't game that much on PC anymore. But I still have the urge.

So alternatively, I've been suggested ASUS TUF GAMING R5 4600 (GTX1650) at RM3.6k

My question is, how big a generation gap is it between these two? I only game at 1080p. I'm fine with lower detail as long as the frame rate's good. Will I miss anything much, assuming I'm not buying a new laptop within the next 5 years?

I'm currently using the Z400 workstation at home. It's working fine for most purposes. But it starts to struggle when multitasking. Even doing hi-res photoshop stuffs while having 2-3 browsers open will cause it to struggle. It's very limited when it comes to multi-tasking.

My 2015 PC is still at the office. I still use that one except for doing advanced Revit or Lumion rendering (3D renderings).

Not sure if anyone wants it. The workstation uses old Quadro, which is pretty crap for gaming (even in 2011), but good in computing stuffs. And they're also using SATA HDDs. So I'm just gonna keep them and use for casual stuffs and for my daughter's online classes.

The original was 500GB HDD. Then I had to replace it in 2018 because it started to make weird sounds. I bought the 2nd HDD quite recent, around 2019 I think.

And no, I probably wont spend any more money on the PC, since I've bought a new laptop (based on the suggestions here).

How much you bought the latest laptop

Any free gift for it?

No wonders

Because when you talking about 1tb HDD

Which I actually a bit surprising for year 2015

Which could be kinda new in here at that time

Hence curious asking only whether any upgrading doing between that.

Have you checked out Acer Nitro 5? I unironically use an Acer Nitro 5 for gaming. Hasn't given me any trouble in the past three months I've used it. The keys are tactile and the performance is solid. I love it.

about 6 hours-ish for gaming and can stretch to 8 hours for non-gaming.
