Microsoft: just ignore those BD users. people should buy movies from our store.
we all know it's dead when they ditch MCE.
u guys still remember these remotes?
I still got one of these, with it's IR receiver. Pain in the ass last time mapping the button with custom instruction because the player doesn't support default instruction for playback. Nowadays my HTPC use air remote, more convenient than remote.
Upgraded from 2700X to 12700K. Cinebench R20 result is more than double from previous build. But the CPU temp immediately shoot up to 102c when start test. CPU power consumption goes to 220w
You need proper LGA 1700 mounting kit for Alder Lake too. CPU is lower. Double check the mounting support.
This is mine using Corsair H150i Elite Capellix and Kryonaut Extreme.

Possible I put too many thermal paste as not sure can use pea size since it's not square. Your power only goes to 211w? You already limit it? Review that I read it can go till 240w
No wonder recently Brave feels very laggy, not smooth scrolling and button unresponsive. Have to disable hardware acceleration to get it back as normal. But Chrome doesn't have problem, no need to disable hardware acceleration.
That was fast. Just after Ryzen review come out. 13900k also cheaper by 100 dollar against 7950x This time looks like Intel fighting back to get PC build market share.
Yup. I'm worried about the temps. Looking for new casing and 420mm AIO.
Last time 360mm AIO feel massive, now 420mm the norm

AMD is no longer a value platform with the 7xxx series. At least there's still ddr4 support with raptor lake. and there's 2 generational of boards to select from. For all intent and purpose, majority of users should be sufficient with Raptors.
Maybe still stuck in good times of pandemic + crypto + shortage. Interesting to see how they priced their RDNA GPU.
DDR5 still not seeing a lot advantage compared to the higher price. Maybe need a lot faster CPU and pcie 5 GPU.
Hi guys, I need some help. I recently purchase a new rig with Core i7 13700K (to replace LGA1156).
I did some video converting task and run HWmonitor, found out that CPU temperature hit 90 Degrees. (some core reach 100 occasionally). I think this is not good for the system please correct me if I'm wrong. The processor load for E core is almost 100% but P core is still like less than 30% load. Is it something normal? ( Sorry for asking as 1156 era does not have those special core term, and kinda newbie on this )
I did some research that undervolting will help to reduce the temperature and maybe improve the overall performance as well. I read the guideline in website, its seems like its not hard to toggle it, just need you guys to share with me, usually the safest voltage undervolt is how much for 13th Gen processor? I know its random, but maybe just a rough idea where I can start to be careful on value.
does windows update eg win 11 22h2 causing blank screen or overclock issue? overclock i mean here ddr ram / xmp.
my display screen goes blank, and cpu still got sound .. remove all driver ddu, removed gpu riser cable, all default setting, direct slot.. msi afterburner default, nvidia also but same issue.
solution i found that increase my ddr to 1.37v .. a bit .. and no issue since.
I experience before with overclocked RAM on AMD system. Everything already setting nicely and memory test no error, then after Windows update memory test full of error. Sometimes after update it's the opposite, system more stable and can push higher speed. Voltage also affected after update, sometimes need more voltage, sometimes reduce voltage also still no memory error.
Not sure if it applies now, but when 12th gen was launched I did some test using Windows 10 and found it weird that my i5-12600K performs not as good as the lower end models.
I then disabled the E cores and the performance went up, result is then as expected.
Didn't FEEL this in i9-12900K probably because it already has a bunch of P cores, or for some reason the E cores didn't impact it that much. No idea.
12th gen have Intel's Thread Director that is optimized for Windows 11 Task Scheduler. It's not optimized for Windows 10, that causes it to assign task to incorrect cores. After some time later I think MS and Intel have fix it for Windows 10.
However this might mark the end for ARC. Intel doesnt have the finance or capacity to carry 2 ipgu solutions and if there is no volume to push ARC above their measly 1% market share, then Intel will sooner ditch ARC esp if the Nvidia brandname can help sell more CPUs (yes ironic isnt it?).
I'm more worried on end of Intel's eGPU now that Nvidia have some influence in them. Their B60 24GB looks like going to be disruptive to Nvidia share on the gaming and AI market, something that Nvidia surely want it to be stopped.
Most likely will stay, Nvidia only partnered with Intel not bought entire Intel, as of now we don't know how long is the partnership Otherwise, the money losing business in Intel will be axed by Nvidia if Jensen is in charge.

NVIDIA is investing $5 billion at $23.28 per share, making NVIDIA one of Intel's largest shareholders, with a 4.9% stake in the total company
Nvidia in position to squeeze Intel arms. They already sold hundreds of billions dollar worth of GPU for AI, if not trillion. Having Intel coming to disrupt their market share sure is no go for Jensen.
