I read Intel price cut certain processors. Does it affect the price for such processor in Malaysia?

Either will come much later or distros makan the margin gap and maintain prices with excuses of tariffs, RM getting shittier, USD getting stronker, petrol subsidy removal, egg subsidy removal, blah blah blah... (pick whichever they want to use).

TLDR; dont put your buying decision on expectation it will come.

I am for intel at first. My current pc lasted years under intel with no issue so was hoping intel would wise up with their price and give a competitive value processor. Looks like I have to go to amd for the next few years.

Dont have experience with AMD CPU but seems like its no longer as bad as it was before. Then again AMD CPU platform also no longer the value oriented as before and now even more expensive than Intel coz distros/dealers know its the hot thing today.
Still if you want hassle free and more stable system, Intel is tops but if your okay with lesser stability and frequent agesa bios updates just for ultimate gaming perf, then its AMD.

Depends which pros & cons you can live with.

if got intel that can compete with 7500f for performance and price i might consider but will also factor in motherboard socket long term support. i can resell cpu for path to upgrade but motherboard will be difficult.

12400F + MSI B760M Mortar Wifi DDR5. Have plenty of future forward features like DDR5, Gen5 GPU slot, and 3x Gen4 M2 SSD, wifi 6E on E-key slot so can upgrade to WIfi7. LGA1700 platform still can future upgrade to 14700K next time.

Also future AM5 support is not guaranteed like what happen to AM3+/AM4 until people make noise.

I like the 124000f but worry path to upgrade is 13/14 proc with degradation/oxidation issue and also 14700k consume a lot of power. Don't care about wifi 7 because i use cable all the time. Didn't amd say will promise support for am5 for much longer? Am4 start 2017 last until now and lga 1700 consider end.

My advice is please think twice before choosing Intel.

First, the LGA1700 socket is nearing the end of its life. If you go with a B-series motherboard, your upgrade path will essentially stop at the 14700K, there is no real future beyond that.
Secondly, the 13th/14th gen CPUU degradation issue is still unresolved. Although Intel claimed that the previous microcode update had fixed the problem, they just released yet another microcode (0x12F) a few days ago. Honestly, no one knows when this will be fully resolved. My own 13900K has already suffered from this issue, so I'm speaking from experience. Anyway, I am still own a 13700K PC but i have given to my son.

This is why I am going amd for this upgrade but i come here hoping to hear news if got any discount for the new intel proc for lga 1851 socket. i want to avoid 13/14 gen at all cost given bad news with those proc. My current intel cpu served me very well throughout the years but now its chocking getting to run some games that require 6 cores as well as motherboard cannot support win11.

If you're looking at the LGA1851 platform, just keep an eye on the 265K, the price is expected to drop to around +-RM1,300. However, keep in mind that LGA1851 might only support a single generation, as the entire Ultra Core series CPUs are crap. There's a rumor that Intel might introduce a new platform next year. That said, if you're planning to keep the system for several years, then it shouldn't be an issue.

That short for lga1851? I thought someone said intel will make their socket last very long time compared to amd.

Upgrade path is til 14th Gen which is still plenty powerful. Apa lagi mau? Normal users wont need up to 16 Pcores CPU wat. Degradation thing is still ongoing deswai I chose with 12400F, this no such issue. Wait it out until Intel finally fixes it. There are manual ways to prevent it too. AM5 CPUS are also dying so its not just an Intel thing.

AMD talk about longevity of Ryzen platform too but early gen AM4 mobos originally were deprecated from Ryzen 5000 CPU upgrades until people start making noise about AMD janji dicapati where they backtrack and found ways to support newer gen CPUS. So trust all these future longevity talk with jars of salt. No one can predict the future much less Lisa Su.

Imho Intel LGA1700 has flexibility to go either expensive (Ksku & Z790) or budget level (nonK & B760 DDR4) whereas AM5 is exclusive expensive anyhow. LGA1700 might have ended (unless Bartlett Lake?) but CPU tech has progress so much that even few gens old wont feel it lagging. So choice is depends what your budget and what you want to do with it. No wrong or right.

I already went ahead and order 7500f with b650 board. I would love to start with 12400f but the problem is the path to upgrade for lga1700 is up to 13th and 14th gen procs and those are known for degradation/stability issues. At least with AM5 I can look forward to ryzen 7 or 9 series should I decide to upgrade in the future. If Intel does manage to recover in their next cpu lineup then I can simply sell off my amd & proc while still keeping the ddr5 ram, m.2, psu (also reason why I need to upgrade).
