was looking at 10700f + b460m mortar. Then RKL incoming, so why not B560, but MSI pulak putting Realtek ALC 897 audio on B560 boards.
The B460 came with ALC 1200. What gives ?

Yeahh, tapi with B460 will lose out on GEN4 PCIE NVME and mem oc

from 10700f+ b460m mortar combo; the msi z590-a with 11400f combo seems more "practical" in feature support, only losing out on audio quality
not gonna oc CPU. ram maybe to ddr 4000 or just maybe keep to 3600 CL17.

coming from a 4790K. but then again the single core gains are like only 20% (4790k vs 10700f) and from research/videos upgrading the GPU (GTX 1070 currently) to say a RTX 3080 for 1440p gaming gives the most performance/cost uplift (at msrp of course - i can wait). not into encoding or streaming etc.

So dunno la. laugh.gif laugh.gif

the build in one is totally different compare with the old m/b, the sound is so sharp and strange, it's like sharp sound, i need to manual change setting if i ue between speaker and headphone.
previously old m/b when i set to rock and living room , it's fine, i setting can kautim adi. but with the new one i need to manual adjust it. when watch movie, ppl talking is more softer and low volume., maybe need more play around with the setting realtek audio console.

Check your speaker settings too, i.e. are you using 5.1 audio ? Windows might have changed it to stereo setup, hence the low voice volume if you are playing a file with a 5.1 track.

Speaking of the Asrock B560 steel legend, the VRMs get an A rating from this reddit post

sifus, a bit off topic, hope you all dont mind, Corsair PSU RMA still under Cudo ? Convergent ? Back in 2017 i sent to Cudo.
My RM1000x (which was a RMA of my AX860) is giving a loud popping noise when turned on (read online it's the current being loaded or something). So in the meantime, i just don't turn off the wall plug. haha.
Thanks!

No gaming just normal web browsing, little video editing, photoshop and illustrator..

Which is better for this 12600k or 12700..

The 12700 with more cores will help in productivity apps.

Here's a review to help in your decision:

And i'm asusming you will be going for DDR4 boards, so do note that if you go for Non-K SKU (i.e. 12400, 12600 or 12700 etc, regardless F or not) you will be limited (or none at all) in Memory OC due to the locked SA voltage of the non K chips. (doesn't matter Z690 or B660 boards).
So just get DDR4 3200 and save some money.
