So the performance and battery life of the Exynos is now on par with the SD. Good job, Samsung
Any user here can comment on the signal strength in comparison to other phones, particularly for maxis?

QUOTE(khuen72 @ Feb 15 2021, 08:23 AM) Battery life is good , can easily hit 6 - 7 hours of SOT on my S21 , but it's only been 2 days having the phone. Thanks for the feedback bro. I had the Note 10+ for a bit and the weak signal strength drove me to sell the phone off in less than a month, so I wanna make sure it's not the case for the S21 series since I've not used any other Exynos powered phone since then Signal is noticeably weaker compare to my OnePlus 8 pro , in the same area with the s21 I would have slightly weaker signal . Especially in underground parking . I'm on Celcom though Then again, with the MCO and working from home, I suppose signal strength isn't as critical these days |

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Feb 15 2021, 02:23 PM) Let me jump on the bandwagon and give my 2 sen. I took issue with Samsung after seeing my Note 10+ having worse signal strength than my other midrange phones But before that, can I implore you people to address the subject matter which only then would be meaningful debates, if you will, instead of addressing the person. When attended in such a manner, the forum would achieve its intention and that is to gather intel and learn about what we are interested in. Back to subject proper. Samsung phones in our neck of the woods, for whatever reason, have weaker phone signal. I am talking through experience. Having a Note 10+, Note 20Ultra, iPhone 12Pro Max, Huawei P30 Pro and Mate30 Pro simultaneously, the Samsungs’ signal is somehow not on par with the rest. With that said, it is not often that the phones heat up while searching for signal. Only in rare cases. Nonetheless, the other phones don’t struggle as much during those occasions, looking for signal. So, yeah, Samsung phones here in Malaysia with the Exynos SoC is weaker, phone signal wise, comparatively. However, there will be instances when a certain telco has its tower nearby and you happen to be using a Samsung phone with that telco’s SIM card, obviously signal strength will be stronger compared to another brand’s phone with a different telco card in it. Which means, all such situations must be taken cognisance of. Have you tried the S21 series bro? Curious to know how the signal strength will fare vs the other phones in your collection mentioned above. |

QUOTE(laihuhng @ Feb 16 2021, 08:13 AM) S21U here. The weakest among all my other phones. However, it's comparable to my Samsung Note8 and Note3. Most of the time either 1 or 2 bars indoor. Thus, I believe all Samsung phones signal is weak. Oh dear, that’s not reassuring at all. Which telco are you on bro? kamil129 liked this post

QUOTE(laihuhng @ Feb 16 2021, 08:32 AM) Thanks, bro. I’ll wait a bit for the prices to drop a bit more, in absolutely no hurry to get it yet. I totally agree with your view on Huawei though, I had the Mate 30 Pro for a bit and the signal strength blew everyone away. The other chipset to try if you want great signal strength, and this is a real surprise, is the Mediatek Dimensity series chipset. I’m currently trying a Realme 7 5G and I would say the signal strength is on par with my previous Huawei QUOTE(PeeEl @ Feb 16 2021, 11:57 AM) I am your twin brother insofar as the S21 series is concerned vis-a-vis the signal strength. LOL. Holding my horses until such time that I am truly convinced the improvements this time with the Exynos SoC are worth venturing into. As I don’t fall into the early adopter category, I have patience as my virtue in relation to acquiring such gadgets. Hahaha, ok bro, will do. Cheers! If I do give in earlier than you, I’d be sure to give you a buzz. You do likewise, ya hear. Cheers. |

QUOTE(hanny562 @ Feb 24 2021, 11:31 PM) Just purchase S21Ultra 12/256. Surprisingly the signal strength is good. Previously with my s10+, the signal on only 1 bar when I'm at my work desk area; Now with S21Ultra, the signal around 2~3 bar. Happy with it. I don't have over heating issue (maybe I'm just get used to previous heat issue and felt not a problem at this s21ultra) Nice feedback, bro. Which telco are you on, btw?QUOTE(monocle @ Feb 25 2021, 10:15 AM) Nice price for a SD888 device, but will wait for super discounts like they had for the Mi 10 |
