There is no real need for a new mobo. The current AM2 mobo will fully support the Star processors, minus new features such as split power lanes

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Aug 28 2007, 04:38 PM) Ops..Sorry. Understood that. Dont worry, buy proc first then later got extra money buy mobo & ram. then overclock like nobody bussiness or tak ingat dunia. But for the feature that are not supported in AM2, will it differ much in performance and overclockabiliy? -pWs- asus RD780 Board. http://uk.theinquirer.net/?article=40058 This post has been edited by beast921: Aug 28 2007, 05:01 PM |

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Aug 28 2007, 04:38 PM) Ops..Sorry. Understood that. Power management might have a hit.But for the feature that are not supported in AM2, will it differ much in performance and overclockabiliy? -pWs- Per-core power settings might not be enabled, but for sure no split power planes (IMC yeah, but for the cores?) and HTT 3. Just get RD790/780. It's the X38/P35 of AMD, and it still runs freaking cool (judging by the reference design) Added on August 28, 2007, 4:56 pmBy the way: http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=c...d=2702&Itemid=1 Yeah, from FUD-O but it makes sense seeing the CPU supply at launch.
