i've owned 2pairs of Ksc75 for a coupla years now although both share litttle listening time as i'd differenct cans to play with plus im not so hot about earclips as i do find them atad uncomfortable (mayhaps irritating even after some prolonged wearing). anyways i finally have both pairs back in my hands after some serious (looking and sounding) mods by bro PCdude.
the gist of this post is that i found 1pair of K75s to have better, deeper and more impactful bass on top of being less grainy than the other pair. i've discussed at some length PCdude about this phenomenon and whether its all just my imagination. it turns out that bro PC have not only had loads of experience of K75s innards (thru his mod services), he's even touched the membrane of these things.
bottomline is accord to bro PC, the membrane of this particular K75 is softer and hence more flexible than others. he told me that he's only encountered 1other example of this particular K75 phenomenon. when i 1st did a brief comparo with my newly acquired PK1 to my other mod-recabled K75, i could swear that the PK1s are superior. bro PC oso agreed when he tried my PK1s lastweek.
then came this final K75 to be super mod'd by him and he told me at delivery that this particular K75 sounded great paired with a PPAv2. sure enuff i went home and did some listening and comparos with the PK1. my present conclusion...this particular K75 is equilavent to the PK1s to my ears atleast. the superiority of this particular K75 to my other identically modded K75 is not subtle IMO. needless to say, i'll be keeping this super K75 for a longwhile!
anyone else experienced the samething?
ps:FWIW i've oso heard from EFN that his bud's old (5-10yr old K75) sounded much superior to him against the newer models.
Different Batches of KSC75?, anyone else had this experience?
