Hi guys, is there anyone here knows where i can buy a casing that can house 6 HDD and more ?

i cant seem to find any ?

my bad nowadays full tower casing not all support 6 hdd bay

cooler master full tower stryker or cosmos can support 6+ hdd.

but mostly for 2.5" hdd.

I'm using a Cooler Master HAF XM. Can housed 6 X 3.5 inch HDD, 2 X 3.5 inch HDD on removable tray and 5 X 5.25 inch HDD or DVD.

Only issue is finding a mobo which has 6 or more SATA ports.

Can use pcie card to add more data ports?
If can which card?

i still have my old Cooler Master Full Tower Casing.
back in the days all Full tower casing can support 8+ hdd easily.
nowadays not so.

times have changed......

I bought some PCIE SATA cards. The 2 ports are the most reliable. Forget the 4 or 6 ports one. Drives kept going MIA after each boot up.

However, only can install 1 card only. I tried installing 2 cards and the drives kept going MiA. Not sure if it is a W10 or mobo problem.

The cards are sold on Shopee for a mere RM 25-35 each.

Currently using external hdd casing,
Sometime the drive missing when boot up,
Sometime event viewer list the hdd got error.
Currently have 12 hdd,
And windows explorer will lag after few day....

last time i 6 hdd already kacau already.

i believe using ssd instead of hdd will solve this problem but i have not tried it......

Too bad ssd price still abit high....
Else I also want move all to ssd...

Currently using this 9215+575 Marvell Chip 8 Ports SATA 3.0 to PCIe Expansion Card PCI Express SATA Adapter +6 sata port from mobo to 10 HDD, BD-rom and hot swap hdd caddy.

And Pcie x1 to 4 port sata AsMedia chip +6 sata port from mobo to 9 hdd and bd-rom. Both brought from Shopee.

Working fine as long install the driver, if not install driver Windows only detect 2 drive.

Just make sure it is not conflict with the mobo chipset like MARVELL sata controller will cause conflict with same brand pcie card chipset. Just mix brand like Marvell and AsMedia.

For zero conflict issue is your mobo not using any Marvell or AsMedia chipset.

Plug an play were those Pcie to Sata with just 2 port no need install driver and can put more than 1 piece.

I guess you need to find an older casing like CM Storm Trooper.

Next h440 old casing can support too iinm

You can check older workstation or server-style cases because they usually have multiple drive cages. I had the same issue and ended up grabbing a used Fractal Define R5 since it fits a bunch of HDDs without mods. You can also look at Cooler Master HAF or old Lian Li towers, they pop up used pretty often and support six or more drives with no trouble.
