my AMD laptop is basically more powerful then my office workstation and has decent battery life and thermal performance then the average intel mobile performance chips.
if intel was so stable why the had to fire their last CEO and the hire a new one who will also admit intels failure to compete even with a lifestyle company.
no one care about loyalty here. we just want the best for our money.
you just simping for intel while we look for progress.

You office spec maybe so so only. Don't do mistake buying AMD.
If want safe go Intel. If you don't mind experimenting can try amd. 5000 mobile and 4000 mobile difference is 10% so don't need to wait. The one that need to wait is 3060 which is up to 40% more than 2060.

Intel still stuck in their donkey ages of 14nm and quad cores (for i5, as im benching it according to price, if you want to compare i7 with ryzen7 then it’s 6 vs 8).
For same budget (actually still cheaper), you can get Ryzen7 4800H, which have double the cores/threads while likely still consuming less powers (TSMC 7nm is fantastic here).
must compare r7 against i7 ma.. apple to apple comparison i5 is just office spec series.

I5 cost more than R7
I7 cost even more than that, yet still less cores than R7. The previous saving grace of Intel having better single thread performance also will soon change after 5th gen Ryzen reach the market.
Ryzen 5th gen can even obsolete Intel’s desktop chips

can share which lenovo model are these ? specs looking good
Thanks boss. There's always another time. Good for waiting new AMD gen3 too.
Can’t deny that
But in “value for money” aspects, the value is really really hard to beat in foreseeable future (Ryzen5/7 and GTX1650 laptop for under RM2.5k? Asus/Acer likely have a shock reading about that too )
Zen3 have substantial improvement in single core performance. Though I expect newer gen likely means higher price too, as TSMC is overloaded with chip orders and had increased its price to maintain the demand and profit. Thus AMD likely will have to increase their price too.
Back then when I bought my 3rd gen Ryzen5 lappy, AMD didn’t break through the mobile computer market yet and their Ryzen5/7 laptops go as cheap as sub RM1.5k-2k as compared to Intel i3 or i5 which easily start above RM2k. With 4th gen Ryzen turned the tide against Intel, Ryzen devices no longer start at under RM2k (though still far more competitive as compared to Intel).
