Easily AMD.

Intel still stuck in their donkey ages of 14nm and quad cores (for i5, as im benching it according to price, if you want to compare i7 with ryzen7 then it’s 6 vs 8).

For same budget (actually still cheaper), you can get Ryzen7 4800H, which have double the cores/threads while likely still consuming less powers (TSMC 7nm is fantastic here).

The mobile 5000-series had just been launched last month and various vendors have their SKUs listed already. If you're particular about wanting the best of the best, get those that updated with Zen3 architecture (similar to desktop). Few of the 5000-series still based on the olded Zen2 architecture and will probably fall short bout 10% in performance differences especially in single threaded task.

But honestly, zen2 is no sloth either and readily better than most intels out there.

Wouldn't say a lot but they have to make more stable drivers, especially in AMD+Nvidia laptops. Also Ryzen 5000 mobile (Zen 3) has caching issue pending AMD fix. Does this means AMD is bad? No, Intel Tiger Lake also has driver issues especially on iGPU side.

Personally would pick AMD since it's more power efficient which is more important in smaller+power constraint form factor like laptops. Also at non gaming systems it offers 6 and 8 cores

Yes due to cheaper price point.

Performance endurance of battery management its Intel.

Reality, no need backup.

Surface example, none using Amd at all.

Macbook example, none using Amd at all.

Real facepalm response here.

At this moment, value for money gaming laptop has turn tide from intel to amd.

latest ces proved it. more manufacturer turn to amd.
