QUOTE(LucasChia @ Feb 1 2021, 02:19 PM) Hello guys, is there still worth to purchase macbook pro 15 inch year 2014 2015? Is there still have spare parts supply nowadays incase the MacBook have any problem with it? IMHO its still worth it if you want the ports with good performance. For intensive work, better look elsewhere. For spare parts, I can safely say the parts are largely available (I’m using mbp 2015 btw). My experience with repairs so far : - 2017, I got display staingate issue and got it replaced for free by Machines. - Early 2019, I sent for blownout speakers repair also at Machines, parts are already in stock and they fixed it within a day. - Early 2020, I sent for bloated battery replacement also at Machines, but this time they say parts needed to order from USA. So they ship my mpb to Singapore and perform repair there. Before shipping back to MY. Everything happens in about 17 days from start till receive back. |

QUOTE(LucasChia @ Feb 1 2021, 05:48 PM) Yep, in 2017 and 2020 was at Machines KLCC. And for 2019 was at Machines Mid Valley. Customer service was good for both outlet.QUOTE(LucasChia @ Feb 1 2021, 05:50 PM) I’m not so sure about the price. But it does look like its the higher-end version of 15” mbp mid 2014. Need more experienced people to do the estimation. |

Good laptop. Mine is 2015 top spec. Really a beast.
Things I've done: - Repair the speaker. RM 130 self-change. Very easy. - Numerous service & Thermal Paste application. RM 40 the tube still last till now. I paid mine RM 4,800 3 years ago. I reckon 2014 spec like that should be able to fetch RM 3,000 - RM 3,500? |

QUOTE(LucasChia @ Feb 2 2021, 12:32 AM) Not the highest spec but good enough.https://support.apple.com/kb/sp704?locale=en_MY The dedicated graphic card option was a time bomb anyway so the unit you're interested in is the best variant. |

QUOTE(piscesguy @ Feb 4 2021, 07:11 AM) Agreed. To be honest Apple products has high resale value compared to Windows.Sold 2k for 2012 iMac last year. Bought it around RM4500 at original price considered very very very high resale price. You buy a used Mac for brand but you buy a new Mac for tech It's cheaper to own for a used one but you know la, gadgets are double faster every year no point buying old if you go for performance. if use for facebook or youtube cat videos ok la |
