IMHO its still worth it if you want the ports with good performance. For intensive work, better look elsewhere.

For spare parts, I can safely say the parts are largely available (I’m using mbp 2015 btw). My experience with repairs so far :

- 2017, I got display staingate issue and got it replaced for free by Machines.
- Early 2019, I sent for blownout speakers repair also at Machines, parts are already in stock and they fixed it within a day.
- Early 2020, I sent for bloated battery replacement also at Machines, but this time they say parts needed to order from USA. So they ship my mpb to Singapore and perform repair there. Before shipping back to MY. Everything happens in about 17 days from start till receive back.

LOL exactly same year record with my rMBP mid 2014.
- Staingate free fixed by Mid Valley service centre.
- Replaced speaker, but now still burst eh...
- Bloated Battery replaced myself last year ordered from internet, but still have warning icon, but still usable though

Agreed. To be honest Apple products has high resale value compared to Windows.
Sold 2k for 2012 iMac last year. Bought it around RM4500 at original price considered very very very high resale price.
You buy a used Mac for brand
but you buy a new Mac for tech

It's cheaper to own for a used one but you know la, gadgets are double faster every year
no point buying old if you go for performance.
if use for facebook or youtube cat videos
ok la
