Hello guys, I have very limited knowledge on TV and just wanted to upgrade the current 40" plasma TV to something new for my wife. Need some recommendations, below are my criteria:

Budget: RM2000 - RM2500
Size: 55" or above. Wife wants a bigger TV, that's it
Resolution: 4k? I think that's the standard for 55" LED TVs.
HDMI: Need 3 at least
Brand: Prefer established brand like LG / Sharp / Samsung etc.

Thanks!

Looks like a good deal for 65". She just wants a huge screen, the tech doesn't matter much

No point buying 4k if you don’t have 4k content

Fully aware of that, but the problem is modern 55" these days doesn't come with 1080p anymore if I'm not mistaken. 4k seems to be the least these days

Get a Sharp 4K 60". 3x HDMI

Note: will require a TV bench of 6 feet or longer, coz the TV itself is about 5 feet long.

Pretty interesting. Are you using it yourself?

Thank you guys for the feedback! I've settled down with ceo684's suggestion, a Sharp 60" 4TC60CH1X.

I'm using the older model (LC60UA6500X), 60" 4K not-so-smart TV (NOT full smart).
Mine can only youtube. No complains so far, got mine for RM2499 warehouse sale (new box) back in 2018-2019 thereabouts.

Running Netflix 4K on a mibox. icon_rolleyes.gif coz the 600 bucks difference for built in android of the then-higher model 6800X (which may or may not be upgradeable) can buy me 3 units of mibox already.

For my TV bench area I needed a 7 feet one to fill up the space (to follow my wall).
Problem was back then all the long TV benches from Ikea was around 1000 bucks.
So made my own TV bench to save cost and get something that fits the wall nicely.

Realistically, should budget about 6 feet long TV bench so that you have space at both sides, and with that space you can place stuff beside it (router/mibox/DVD player etc).
Bare minimum required is 5 feet clearance I would say (for 60") if space is a problem.

Hey bro, thanks for the suggestion, I have settled down with the TV you recommended. Cheers!

No complains so far, it's been running good. Value for money
