QUOTE(yunodie @ Jan 29 2021, 09:45 AM) what a wild ride last night. Saw my unrealized gain went down all the way from the high of 460 to 130. Luckily my hands are made of diamonds. i actually bought the dips at 250+ ish. Just keep calm and follow up with latest news from WSB and we will be fine. This is getting personal for a lot of people judging from the reactions and getting a lot of attention from politicians from both side of the aisle. It is going to be a wild ride for the next few weeks. so hold tight and enjoy the ride. Hopefully the end is near. My TP remain unchanged. Either buying a lambo or nothing. wont settle for anything in between. Im prepared to run it down to Zero. QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 29 2021, 02:07 PM) eToro can, but now market is closed la Tiger Brokers allow trading outside regular hours. But they also don't allow buying of stock any more although I'm buying it using 100% cash (no margin). Read that Fidelity can buy GME while other brokerages couldn't. Anyway, now Robinhood again allow buying of GME but no more fractional shares.Yes, usually the house wins However this time... The house fucked up, in their own rules in their own game. They had many chances to cut losses short, no. They want EVERYTHING. GREED. they fucked themselves over infinitely. And this is our (probably) once in a lifetime to hurt them where it hurts. Not their money, they have infinite, there hedge buddies bailed them. No, it's their ego, that very ego that they are invincible and untouchable. And now the masses are slaying that 1 invincible titan of wall street Yeah market closed. and yeah probably can't place just for GME No you can't place orders for GME, so when market opens later 10:30Pm Malaysian time , go SMASH that trade button. OPEN POSITION what to do, those elites pressured the online brokers, some caved. eToro caved yesterday and now loosened up. We'll see how it goes later. Fortunately not every broker caved, and the fight continues. Hope that price really rockets up (infinite squeeze have not happened yet). What was supposed to be multibagger profits became paltry due to all the shenanigans and scare tactic. Sigh! Only 1 share left bought at a pretty high price. Submitted my low sell limit to a higher one (hope that change is allowed before it is executed) as really cannot tahan all this manipulation. When a movie is made about this, I can say that I'm part of history. What a great story... But I wonder who's risk is higher?
I mean short sellers (funds) just need to pay interest based on the last price right? Sooner or later someone will sell. Unless one had the capability to hold long enough to make those interest payment hurts, you are subject to the volatile swing and funds are also in the making kills. |

Really............"Son, once upon a time, on January 2021, I'm about to tell you a story about how your everyday ordinary people took a fight against the world's wealthiest elites, and how your daddy was a part in fighting the good fight!" You did not take the fight to elites. Everyone just destroyed some hedge funds who did not know about risk management while making a ton of other elites really rich. Donald Foss who is a Republican donor and the person that founded a subprime auto lending company that takes advantage of people with poor credit. He bought shares at around $4 for around 12 mil and now it is worth close to 1 billion if he hasn't sold. He is also one of the many hedge funds that are long stock Haven't even touched about Silverlake and others who are making big bucks from other stocks riding the coattails of Gamestop. https://www.opensecrets.org/donor-lookup/re...der=desc&sort=A ![]() This post has been edited by zacknistelrooy: Jan 29 2021, 07:39 PM |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jan 29 2021, 06:25 PM) What a great story... But I wonder who's risk is higher? Its not that simple and its not just paying interest, there's topping up margin every time price increase drastically also which is an even bigger killer than the interest. This is the mother of all squeeze. In wallstreetbets, there is at least 1 article on how badly they will be squeezed if people keep holding their shares and will only sell it at a much higher price. GME was the most shorted stock at 139% of existing float. And if buyers keep buying stocks and calls and choose to exercise the calls, it just makes it even worse. Do also read up on volkswagon squeeze and KBIO squeeze. The thing is when millions of people all over the world (not just USA) saw and realize this and were willing to keep buying and holding for the infinite squeeze, the hedge funds started sweating. I mean short sellers (funds) just need to pay interest based on the last price right? Sooner or later someone will sell. Unless one had the capability to hold long enough to make those interest payment hurts, you are subject to the volatile swing and funds are also in the making kills. Brokerage firms disallowed buying from the main street people and only allowed them to sell with some / one of the brokerages actually liquidating some of the common people's long position at the end of the day (yesterday, price dropped a lot instead of rising because people couldn't buy)--can you imagine how mad they are. The short hedge funds then can buy back at lower price. [I read that one insider actually admitted that Citadel doubled up their shorts just before Robinhood prevented the people from buying more--how true this is I do not know] There's many more details. If you were to really scour wallstreetbets, you will realize that most of the common folks would win $. The main risk was whether SEC would act to stop this. None imagined that the brokerages would do them dirty. IB (Interactive broker) head actually went on air and admitted that the brokerages agreed to disallow people from buying and only allowing them to sell their shares because the brokerages were afraid their clients (ie short sellers) would not be able to pay up, then the brokerages would end up holding the bag (of course couch it as protecting the people). --this last paragraph, I didn't see the youtube clip but many people who saw it said he said that)--clip is easily available This post has been edited by abcn1n: Jan 29 2021, 08:20 PM yunodie liked this post
