Even if it is long lasting, I bet you won't be using a same notebook more than 5 years anyway. Also to add on is I believe these MNC will impose strict QA control so that the product that bear their name are not tarnished by the shoddy workmanship. And plus, many processes are automated by machine nowadays, so, I don't think the different is that much except psychologically. Btw, do you know that many products that bear Japanese name nowadays are mostly not made in Japan for example the Toyota or Honda?so many years, ok no problem at all...been good to me...
