to be fair for those over 30 years, 2 years contract are reasonable especially those got high salaries range.
just look at Bale, Ronaldo & Messi, if clubs got into financial trouble, others players will surely feel not fair to them to face salary cutting or worse, need to sell them to support their salaries.
Where else Bale, Ronaldo & Messi, nobody can afford buy them anyway since they got no resale value and become bit part players later.
