We're attempting more long diagonal passes now, rather than trying to play out from the back in slow motion. Good to see. Not a bad half at all, Burnley couldn't even get a sniff at goal.

Yesssssss first victory!! And a cleansheet to top it off. Solid performance, Burnley only looked dangerous at that last corner, mendy with a bad misjudgement. We looked in control the whole time, impressive.

Had a bad habit under Frank where we can only remain on the front foot for like 20 minutes before being overrun. Doesn't matter who we were facing. Spurs are going to be a different beast, but I think we can beat them.

Ben's quality has dropped for the past few weeks, frank overplayed him imo. He just looks tired sometimes.

This match could've ended 3 or 4 nil to us, so there's definitely progress even if it's just Burnley. Good subs too, although the tammy one is a bit harsh considering timo was just as poor. Excited about the spurs match now, instead of dreading it.

Leeds with an unexpected away win to Leicester, our old boy Bamford doing us a favour. Top four hopes revitalised!

A good, professional performance and boy do we miss those. Within 3 games we've looked more structured upfront and at the back, so that's a testament to tuchel's ability as a coach, I don't think you can put it any other way. 3 cleansheets in a row, although we were lucky not to concede vs spurs with aurier and vinicius missing basically open headers.

Let's just hope christensen steps up while thiago recovers. What I love about the performance was it's not like we scored a fluke goal and held on for 80 minutes, but we looked good going forward and definitely could've added to the score line. Spurs increased their intensity in the second half, but we broke on them and outnumbered their defenders on a couple of occasions. Just needed to find that cutting edge to get a second goal.

It's amazing how with a couple of adjustments to our movement and shape, suddenly jorginho (jorginho haters, you ok? tongue.gif) and kovacic are looking class again. A change of technique for the former's penalty which took balls, literally, and paid off. Alonso has also found a new lease of life at LWB, although he looked a bit suspect towards the end of the match. Christensen had a pretty solid 'emergency return' to the team as well, and he can be happy with his extended cameo.

This is the kind of win that galvanises even the fringe players, and convinces them that the coach is indeed capable of leading us forward. Finally a victory against a top team, since forever! On to the next one flex.gif

Arsenal, United, Leicester, Everton, all dropping points, Liverpool and City next, all we need to do is wiiiinnnnnnnnnnn!! Which is why we should be extra nervous going into this match laugh.gif

I have a good feeling though. There's indeed light at the end of this dark, dark tunnel lol

Ooff close from werner. Needed more conviction in that lob. Good pass from kovacic.

Good run and lay off from werner. That'll put a bit of a spring in his step. Deadly finish from mount, no keeper saves that, it was laser guided.

QUOTE(fzrnhkm @ Feb 8 2021, 04:06 AM)
Please sub off Christensen with Zouma, Chilwell with Alonso, Giroud with either Tammy/CHO/Ziyech at HT..

The fluidity is greatly reduced with current players on the pitch..

Maybe can change formation..?
*
Christensen has been quite good? Chilwell apart from that intelligent pass to werner which lead to the goal, has been kind of underwhelming, along with james. Giroud hasn't been doing much, I agree.
