confirm over fed.
cat needs way less commercial food than those recommended on the packaging guideline.

i feed the ~4kg + male cat a total of 30g of dry kibbles only per day.

30g in 3 meals a day, if u weight u will know the amount brapa kecik.. lol

40g still can gain some weight..
*
Your cat still petit... 4kg only. Mine, 6.5kg male... chonky big size kampung cat (not fatty type sweat.gif ). whistling.gif Eat like no tomorrow. His mom smoll size less than 4kg female. sweat.gif

I just saved a little kitten in my house compound.
His mother abandoned him, so I brought him into home and setup a corner for him to stay, using cardboard and boxes to surround.
He has been with me for 2-3 weeks.

The problem is now I put litterbox, he doesn't want to use.
He still pass on top of cardbox like usual.
I've already caught him and put in litterbox, but no point.
How to train kittens to use litterbox?
*
Take some of his poop in the litter box. Litter box must be far from his food area.

After meal, normally a kitten will poo. You have to wait and if it seems that it's time to poo, take him to the litter box. Keep doing it until he can't hold it and poo in the litter box. No screaming / panicky sound. Make it as soothing as possible.

Normally after a few try, it will know where to poo.

You guys method worked!
I cut all the cardbox that he pooped before, and placed them around the litterbox.
Then i took some poop and put in litterbox.
Now he's pooping in the box.
Thanks for the help, bros.

Horaaay rclxm9.gif

Cat normally function based on familiar smells. biggrin.gif He must be following familiar poo smell into the litter bos.

One more thing, do experiment with different kind of litter box material. Crystals, tofu, pine, etc. Your cat will prefer one more than the other.

Nope.
This is my first time keeping a cat.
The litter i bought is from RM2.40 shop.
The litterbox is also from the same shop, which is used to plant plants, i think. Something like a paper dispenser used on office table. It has a low front entrance, which is easy for kitten to enter and exit.

Another thing, do you people separate kittens/cats by gender?
No need

I'm afraid that if i saved more kittens and they're not spayed, on no time my house will have more kittens than humans.
I actually don't intend to spay them for the time being.
Please do so. Keep them out of trouble - fighting, breeding like no tomorrow, less quality life

I think my kitten is malnourished also.
2 months plus and still very small.
When i carry him, can feel he's skinny and his bones.

Don't fatten your cat. Not good. sweat.gif

Maybe very thin also.
Ever since i gave treats to my kitten, he doesn't seem interested in dry kibbles anymore.
Got spoilt by me already. Haha
*
Happed to my cats too.

Kibbles time - meh... just an after thought snacking at night only.

Wet food in 400gm can - all 4 of them running to their food bowl in no time. whistling.gif tongue.gif

One thing, cat is a very puntual creature. Especialy with meal time. Do set a routine meal time. They will come running when the time come. As for us, 5pm is for wet food and 7am for kibbles. Daily routine.

Last week brought my cat to the vet for annual vaccine and she's 4.2kg. Concerned that she's overweight, my vet said nope she's ideal, all you saw was just fluff. So now we cannot call her fatty girl anymore.

p.s My cat was picky with her food and sometimes skipped dinner, guess she was dieting on her own lol.
*
You're lucky that your cat self diet. thumbsup.gif

Mine - fatso till 5.5kg. rclxub.gif Eat like no tomorrow. He will gobble up anything edible whistling.gif

Recently my cat has been picky with her meals, taking sweet time to finish or even not touching them. She will eat if I add wet food/gravy to them.

So I'm thinking of mixing her kibbles with wet food. Any brand recommendation?

Currently she's on RC Hair & Skin, thinking of switching to Taste of the Wild if I'm mixing with wet food to be kinder to my pocket.

p.s. Anyone feeding their kitties raw egg? What's a safe frequency to feed?
*
Hahaha when any cat taste good wet food, the rest is meh to them... sweat.gif

Raw egg? sure can, but not too much. My cats, I give them raw egg once a week only. thumbsup.gif

Haha, recently i adopted a 2 months old male kitten.
I mixed this male kitten together with my 5 or maybe 6 months old female cats together.

At first, one of my female cat bullied him for days.
After that, they're like best friends forever now.

Anyway, my question is, if i continue to keep them together, will my female cats get pregnant although their age is different?
*
That's for sure. Coming of age and boom - more kittens. Unless you do something (spayed and neutered) with them. sweat.gif

Guys, are those anti flea/tick collar effective?
I noticed that one of my cat's ear is bitten by something, like got some small fresh bites.
I bought an anti tick/flea spray to spray on them, but they always run away.
Whenever i catch them, they'll use their paws to run and scratches me.
They don't like getting wet.
*
I use Bayer, get it from vet / cat supplies outlet / online. All gone within a week or so. But when the flea come back, need to change brand as they tend to develop some kind of resistance to it.

My cats hates collar so much. None wears any collar.

So... last Saturday I brought my new kitten home. Sweet fella, a total lapcat & sleeping buddy.
Now the thing is, my older cat hate him, not just hissing but growling and wanting to swipe & bite him. 2nd night she sprayed at my bedroom door as warning.
Kitten also hissed at my old cat and dog coz he's scared.
So he's been staying in my room for the past few days, occasionally making supervised visit to the living room in the evening.
Last night he wouldn't hiss at my dog, but still enemies with my cat.
I was thinking should I let them fight for once? But my older cat is like 4 times heavier than him...
*
Let them be... after few weeks, the'll tolerate each other, and can be best buddy.

I'm about to have a new kitten in my house, does anyone has any experiences with any air purifiers and proven effective and good? Thank you in advance.

Keep seeing the "Levoit" brand having lots of ads, especially when you see those models with "Pet" word related purifiers...not sure those are just highly advertised overpriced items or really proven to be more effective than other purifier brands.

Basically air purifiers are just a big fan sucking all the air through the HEPA filters, not sure those marketing features are gimmicks or real effective stuffs.

Thinking of are they good for reducing cat furs...I heard that buying Fish oils for the cats will really reduces their fur drops as well...not sure how true as well...

Edit: Oh ya and reducing the smell of their poop station as well if possible...
*
Reducing cat fur - yes, I use Coway and I have 4 idiot cats. sweat.gif Certain cat doesn't shed much, and some will shed like no tomorrow. It's their genetic.

Reducing poop odour - not really, the best way is to clean the litter box on daily basis + some poop odour remover spray. As for us, our cat litter is in our house toilet. That toilet is not for human use. 100% just for cats. We fit the toilet with exhaust fan. Significantly reduce the smell as the exhaust fan suck the smell out of our house.

Thanks for the sharing. May I know which Coway model is it? How about the filter changing duration, like how many months change once ya? Especially for your case with 4 cats, I think getting an air purifier definitely makes a lot of difference.
*
Coway Lombok III. As for themaintenance, Coway people come on periodical basis. I don't follow much the schedule. My wife's did it.

Don't worry much. Enjoy the cat's companion. thumbup.gif

Hi all cat lovers, need your advise.

I have been feeding 5 free roaming neighborhood cats at the back lane of my house in the past 1 year. They are about 1 yo. 3 males and 2 females all have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated & de-wormed.

Have been feeding them "belif" chicken & turkey for adult cat (18kg @ about RM200/bag last for about 2 mths) but they don't really like it.

Will appreciate for recommendation for alternate choices. Prefer dry food with reasonable protein contents [i mean not those with just carbo and artificial taste add-on].
Thanks.

Try few brands / variant... You'll find one that they like and make sure the brand is easily available. sweat.gif

You and whole family are good people.
May god bless all the good people.

I feed stray cats daily around the apartment I stay with Taste of Wild Angus Beef already for 1 year.
I took home a few months old stray female cat while seeing her being bullied by few male cats.
After one month I get to know that she already pregnant.
Now she has 3 kittens staying with me.

Her story at Tik Tok :  mycathuihui

Guys, what do you people think of Whiskas brand as a whole?
Saw 99 Speedmart and Shopee selling this brand, and it's a lot cheaper than famous brands like Royal Canin, etc.
I searched on the internet, saying this brand is no good.
*
Too much filler, less real protein, minerals, etc. whistling.gif

My cats won't touch Whiskas. The just snif2, meh, walk away. whistling.gif

Both... my cats just said - We'll pass... give us real food you hooman. tongue.gif Maybe it's our fault too. Had been pampering our cats with boiled fresh chicken breast meat, steamed fresh mackarel / sardine.

Understood now, just like the processed meat we eat.
Ok, will avoid whiskas in future.

Not to totally to avoid. Can be kept as 'emergency' ration. sweat.gif
