So just got TIME installed at the new house and got the Huawei EG8145V5, so it is all in one ONT, modem, router, switch and WAP. Installed didn't want to use my old standalone Huawei HG8240H ONT unit, which would have been perfect for my situation.
I have all Ubiquity gear, USG, 8 Port POE Switch, 1x AC PRO APs, 3x In Wall Pro APs with a controller running in Azure.
The issue with the EG8145V5, the UI has been modified to not allow putting the unit into bridged mode thus I can use my Ubiquity USG without double NATing which I'd like to avoid.
Anyone have experience forcing the TIME supplied EG8145V5 into bridge mode?
Alternatively, is it possible to use your own ONT? Thinking of picking up a Ubiquity UFiber loco. Any idea if TIME restrict MAC address of ONT or anything like that?

Probably you can call cs to request them to change into bridge mode.

maybe get the PON password from EG8145V5, and key it in your HG8240H i've bought a used HG8240H5 from someone before, it was used for Time previously. I just changed the PON password and uses it for my unifi connection.

You can just call TIME CS to help you to configure the device to bridge mode. I did it myself though.

It would be very useful If you could share some link with me for my reference. I’m awaiting for my router to arrive. Meanwhile, I could do my reading on this.

Here you go: 1) Use manual - https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/eg81...d/636589-1001812) How to configure in bridge mode: https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/huaw...d/498679-100181A disclaimer though, you need to have the administrator login for the modem router. I do not have it though as my TIME installer logged in for me. Best if you let TIME CS help you with it.

Particular TIME doing OMCI Provisioning instruct ONT to do Untagging at ONT br0 interface when do bridge, if in router mode, PPPoE using nas0_449 interface one thing is that, this is all in one, ONU, before they do separate unit.. so no idea the vlan was done in ONU.
