Looking for a productivity mouse, but might be due to horizontal scroll. My current rapoo merapu mouse on its way to trash pile after 8 months lol. Constantly switching off even after changing new battery.
Occasionally game non-competitive, sometimes might find it handy for writing, excel, some animation software, and some 3D modelling or programming.

Found some MX2S for RM250+/-
And also some MX3 for around RM370+, useable with 10% cashback (so around 333)
around 85 linggit difference lah then, but the MX3 one is quite limited stock.

Wondering if wanna spend extra for MX3 which I guess the current advantages are:
1) New tech scrolling wheel
2) Bigger horizontal wheel
3) Much better side button placements
4) Slightly more vertical design (?)
5) Metal construction for some parts
6) Type C port

On one hand kinda interested with the magnetic scroll wheel tech.
Dunno lah if the RM85 is worth the 6 features listed above.
And then there's also the issue of scroll wheel on MX3 I read about on reddit, dunno if fixed already.
If not I'll just get an MX2S and the money saved I'll just buy a cheap bone conduction earphone for fun tongue.gif

Does anyone have experience with MX2S and/or MX3?
Do you find it worth spending the money on these? Let me know. Thanks

Do you use middle click often? If yes, you can eliminate MX2S from your list, the scroll wheel does not act as a middle click, there is an dedicated button just for it.

Edit: Wrong info, for some reason I see MX2S as MX Anywhere 2S.

You mean normal middle click? Then yeah. Use a lot for panning in autoCAD, animation software, 3d model software etc.
The MX2S doesn't have a middle click? huh.gif

Don't listen to Xaphier. The scroll wheel in the middle can act as middle click. You can also assign the scroll wheel button to work differently using the Logitech Options software.

Source: I had the MX Master 2S for three years and it has been my daily driver for my work.

MX Master 3 has different side button configuration compared to the 2S. If your thumb is big, you might accidentally click the side buttons on the 2S as they are on top of each other.

I use the side buttons for Window's File Explorer to navigate around folders.

I suggest you to try out both 3 and 2S physically in-store, if possible, to check your needs.

For me I'll go with 3 for its USB-C support. Don't need to fiddle around with 2S' micro-USB cable when I want to charge my mouse.

The new tech scrolling wheel is not 3 exclusive. Both 2S and 3 has hyper fast scrolling.

Wow this is so wrong and misleading. I can confirm that 2s middle wheel has a click

My bad, I saw MX2S as MX Anywhere 2S, the smaller sibling which does not has dedicated middle click. Sorry for misleading, edited the post.

using 2s for almost 3 years. still rocking.
i would recommend go for 3 if u got budget.
because
1. usb c
2. side button (it depends if u prefer 2s or 3 layout)
3. the wheel on 2s is very very smooth but 3 they claimed is next level of smoothness, you have to try it out on ur own and feel the difference.

i think you better get 3 instead of 2s.
today my mouse cant move the cursor because the gesture button stuck.
fixed it by loosening the screw inside.
something like this

I order the Master 3 coz they have RM100 TnG voucher. With the 10/10 Lazada RM70/RM7 bonus, I was able to grab one at RM280. Factoring in the TnG voucher, the Master 3 should cost me RM180 (fingers crossed).
Hopefully it is a good deal.

Yea I am also aware 3 has RM100 voucher. I bought it from shopee IT COMP. Because shopee offer better discount.
If you don't care about the quiet click, logi bolt and 8000 dpi, with extra 100 voucher is pretty a good deal.
Still waiting to mine to ship out.
Finally, can replace my faulty 2s after 4 years+

Oh, becoz I checked in shopee and it was more expensive compared to Lazada. What discount in shopee did you get?
Also I cannot find a 3s deal as you wrote above. All are >RM400

That was why I went with the 3. I also bought from IT Comp.

for 3s, laz price was 33x with laz bonus, from IT COMP also. Sometimes you need to compare both and see.
Check the box to see the final price or check if there is any shop voucher or platform vouchers.
Sometimes laz is cheaper, sometimes it's shopee, it depends.
Laz still offer free shipping, I also bought some household items, because it's heavy laz overall is 20++ cheaper compare to shopee.
Nowadays really need to compare both platform to get the cheapest price.
