good afternoon all, recently my family has purchased a 9,00sq ft bungalow we're in the dilemma of how we should handle the renovation.

we've gotten a few quotes and the prices we got were cut-throat prices with bad quoted quality materials, with prices ranging from 400k-600k (wetworks + built in) which is crazier than we planned. individually quoted stuff (built in cabinets, wet works, electric, extentsion, etc) got us to around 300k+.

the question is it wise for us to handle the project fully ourself ? our work is quite flexible and we're able to make site visits daily as well. does anybody have any experience as we do not want to make a big mistake in this renovation.

I know an ID that manages from end to end. Including getting all the relevant permits/approvals. PM if interested.

Hi Bro, you as the house owner, you have to proactively monitor your house progress. As for the price, it should be quite reasonable for a 9,000 Sq feet house

400-600k sounds very reasonable for a 9000 sqft...

9000 sqft is very very big, there's a lot of work to be done

Build up is only 3.5k, hence was thinking around the 300+ k range. Maybe need to re check again all the quotes again biggrin.gif

Agreed. My cousin who does ID work recently did a Semi-D (around half your size) for around RM350K.

I'll be undergoing an interior condo ID and am currently working at a budget of around RM100 per/ft and even that is also a struggle.
