hi fellow malaysians ..

can folks here pls recommend reliable couriers for domestic delivery? by reliable, i mean that items will arrive undamaged, and if lost, will have a fair process of insurance claim, ie. not pointing fingers, or shirking from responsibilities.

while i am less concerned abt price, but, it will be good if they are cheaper than fedex / dhl.

for a start, not gdex bcoz i read here abt the melaka branch trying to rough up a customer. i thot of dropzone, but their about-us was spouting unbelievable crap abt how good their ceo is, and the many millions they invested in infrastructure - totally make them look uncredible.

i know where citylink jb is .. just not sure if they will be honorable when it comes to an unfortunate insurance claim. nationwide? i read that skynet is teruk.

i probably will end up going fedex / dhl, but customer will have to pay or them. just want to offer malaysian customers cost effective solutions.

thanks!

some background ..
i am a johor bahru-ian based in singapore, running a webstore. we have been delivering orders (headphones, mp3) to malaysia by ems and fedex/dhl from singapore.

but, past 6 months, all our ems parcels were taxed, and at almost 20-25% .. of course customer almost muntah darah, and we feel sorry too.

so, we are thinking of finding ways to hand carry items into jb, and sending from there.

thanks smile.gif

checked out their web .. no meaningful info. feels like another haphazardly runned local biz. but, will write to them anyway.

well, speed is good, but reliability and honor is even more important.

from my research, every courier seem to have been praised for speed or cost at least once, but then, their inconsistent service level invited a flurry of criticisms later. the usual story is that, 'oh this courier was fast, or cheap, .. until this bloody time that they lost our parcel and said they are not responsible!'

from our experience, many senders dont think abt insurance. for us, insurance is the real test of reliability. everyone can promise fastest and cheapest, but that is all hot air to us.

fastest? ya, boss just insist the driver tekan minyak kuat kuat, what else? drive thru town like orang gila.

cheapest? ya, boss pay workers peanuts. workers steal parcels. no work flow, no safety procedures. boss tell customer sorry lor, but nothing he can do. he rather kick out reputation then compensate.

give me a solid assurance on insurance, and i will say this company is serious abt their business and obligations to customers. expect too much?
