my relative landed house recently install unifi, when the TM guys come telling us the cabling need to pull very far from another place need us to pay for the "micro-duct" for the cable protection. i tell them no need then they say it's not a standard installation because need to cut the road for a short distance like 1.5 meters therefore we need to pay him 3/4 hundreds.

perhaps our contractor has already pull the cable from living room to the outdoor pillar easier for them to bring the signal in. i checked the tm installation guide it mentioned that it should be covered by TM. but some how the contractor like want to threaten you to pay otherwise they won't start work.

anyone else having similar experience ?

Typical, always want kopi money.

You should contact TM and verify if you should really pay for the cabling.

Well I had a similar experience. The contractor does the wiring for me through ceiling and according to unifi installation guidelines they are supposed to charged only RM66 but I ended up having to pay them RM180.
Complained to Unifi and they said they cannot do anything. They choose the contractor for us but when have problem they push to responsibility away. Sounds easy when you are doing a business which you can monopolize huh?

Official charges is bill on your next bill. If they want you to pay seperately then usually is they try to chop you.
