First of all

I'm much like many of you guys , just started investing during Covid

I initially invested a lot into KLSE, which I made a total of RM300 in 18 months ( I just sold a big chunk of my portfolio to reallocate to US markets )
and honestly I find the Malaysian market to be quite dull and at the moment I'm at a paper loss of RM5k
Moving to Dec 2020 I decided to try out E toro after convincing myself that it's not a scam ( I tried to take out 100 USD which took 3 days to come out and I was charged 5 USD together with awful Forex Rates )

I decided to put in about 1k USD to try out.
I copied a guy called JayNemesis ( apparently is the No.1 trader in E toro with consistent returns over 24 months , 103% returns in 2020 , 52% returns in 2019 , -53% in 2018 )
and I did basically nothing ( I slowly added funds as time moved on )
and today when I checked my portfolio was 1k USD with a profit of 110 USD which is great lol
Back in KLSE I would have to read read read and I still might incur losses ( which is part of trading )

So basically the guy I'm copying averages 80% Returns in the past 8 years ( with 2 years of loses )

Which means if I were to place say 4k USD in him .... with an average ( 80% is bonkers So I'm using 30% )

4k USD with 30% Returns for 20 years ... it'd be 1.5MIL USD

I mean what ?

How does this even work .... this is even better than Buffett returns and from my experience returns like these are usually considered a scam. However this is E toro and all is there for you to see.

Is this too good to be true ?

BTW you can't follow this guy anymore as he's maxed out the number of copiers with a portfolio worth 100mi USD

usually it's a legit app, but gomen is planning to tax the gains on active traders

eTORO is known for being unscrupulous. You are probably looking at a sample size of one - perhaps he is not even a real person.

If its too good to be true, be careful.

Bruhhhh 10% is low, try wahed investment la, choose aggressive/very aggressive portfolio, can hentak 20-25% easy. The downside is, slowpoke withdraw process.

I just remembered i put in 250 USD back in Sept ( I completely forgot )

The returns was about 23 USD before I put in the additional funds

Last time I invested in instaforex, on Gold

Went in and made 25%, became satisfied and left after a few days...

Then I reinvested after a few days because greedy, lost 95%, and learnt my lesson...

Then nothing. You can continue copying him or withdraw your money. Etoro is legit.
Warren buffet have been known to not beat the index for the past few years.

How does it work. If you are good with your picks you can get paid for doing what you do best.
Keep in mind when you copied someone that someone get paid. Now you need to see if he consistently make money. Could be a one shot thing.

There are plenty of people on etoro. If you don't want to copy him, can copy others.

Second this, but please be noted that Etoro is not being regulated by Malaysian authorities,
the nearest office is in Sydney.

If you can't, then stop. If you can, then by all means continue copying the trader.

Yes for the past 24 months he's been profitable ... and thinking of diversyfying to copy someone with a long term port , I'll have to think this through

haha I've been through my fair share of pain in KLSE

My portfolio dropped like a rock during the crash in March

I was nearly in tear and I just liquidated a big portion of my KLSE portfolio as I'm forseeing a crash coming

It's real. I've been copying him for 2 years. But he's no longer accepting copiers coming this Jan 11.

i checked his portfolio, he mainly gain from crypto currency.

Not a biggie compare to Elon Musk since 2018

Most ppl who consistently make it longer terms are the one to learn as the gains consistently compared to one off

Wait till the market turn then you know what’s is it like just like crypto soon when ppl starting flocking in now at 50k soon
