Hi, yesterday unifi installer came to install 800mbps package for my shop. Upon first tm speedtest using iPhone 11 Pro via 5ghz connection I only manage to get around 300mbps plus download and 100mbps plus upload. The technician told me it’s normal since I am not using the latest device. So today I brought in my ps5 and connect via CAT 6 cable directly to the router, with no any other concurrent connection (wired or wireless). I get a speed test result of 600mbps plus download and 100mbps plus download. Just wondering is this suppose to be the speed I am getting from the package? Please refer to the photo attached and any advice is highly appreciated, thank you!

You have sharp eye, the uploaded photo of speed test is captured using iPhone 7. Herby I attached the screenshot of speed test of my iPhone 11 Pro at close range. Basically no difference😂
So I should be contented if my AC 5ghz speed can hit a 500mbps I guess, even though I am expecting higher. I have contacted my unifi installer telling them if they can bring their “lastest device” to do speed test at my router and if they can hit close to 800mbps, I will let thing pass. After hearing this, the technician told me he will be bringing me a new tp link router and test again for me tomorrow, if every thing goes well, I can keep the tp link router for the time being until my M9 mesh Wifi come in. Thanks again for explaining to me and I really appreciate all the advice given. Let’s see how it goes and I will update here again!

you still prefer Free router by TM right good luck they bring TP Link router is crap

QUOTE(loobighead @ Sep 30 2021, 01:42 PM)

Latest update, I can’t connect to internet since last night so I complain to my unifi installer. This morning he brings in a tp link ac1200 to test, in the end failed to make it works, switch back to the fiberhome router originally given to me upon installation. After that he makes some calls and voila, I am getting 800mbps download and 200mbps upload using direct LAN connection from router to desktop via cat6 cable and similar outcome using my PS5. For wireless connection using 5ghz, my iPhone 11 Pro manage to get 400 mbps plus download and 200 mbps upload as well. So I guess their technician must have done something to my port after I make the complaint. All the pictures are attached below for future references and the next update would be after I get my M9 plus mesh, thanks every one for the comment and advice!

Received my M9 plus mesh, here are the speed for main and sub mesh. In my area only have streamyx top package of 8mbps before launching of this unifi package, I guess I can’t complain much for paying rm349 upgrading to 800mbps unifi business as I have no other alternative available. Hope I can get a discount after a year or two contract with tm ba😂

The only channel I ever watch is Fox Sports for Formula 1. Really sad now. When have time, going to try to downgrade from Ultimate to Ruby or whatever it is they have now. As long as it doesn't affect my existing discount. I'm currently paying RM159 for 800mbps+Ultimate+STD20.

And hopefully Disney Hotstar will get the F1 channels. I think India's and Indonesia's Disney Hotstar have them.
*
you so lucky RM159 800MBPS nice i don't need Ultimate+STD20 we don't care
i hope tm will offer me RM159 800MBPS i will upgrade smile.gif

Refer to the provided method by brother soonwai.
I believe you can try to request them. However, I doubt the request for public IP for package lower than 100Mbps will be entertained. Not sure about this. You may try-and-error by requesting them.
*
i still have Public IP no problem

my package is 100Mbps

if i get Private IP i try ask TM let to see

my router show wan ip is 175.13x.xx.xx

if my router show 100.xxx.xxx mean private ip right

i will try ask TM let to see result but not now ask because running public ip so no need ask

yes i understand i checked confirm my router wan ip is 175.13x.xx.xx that 100% Public IP no problem

QUOTE(cba5566 @ Oct 13 2021, 07:16 AM)
Install Bitcomet software.
If u are on private ip , then the green button beside "Port opened"
will change to orange color.
Click Statistics column , then look for wan ip , it will show 100.xxx.xxx
Correct me if im wrong , my streamyx last time is like that.

That is disaster....u cannot connect to peerers anymore.
Say good bye to torrent dream ...

Time to look for 300M but subscribe fee is rm199.... puke.gif
*
i confirmed my router show wan ip 175.13x.xx.xx 100% Public IP so no problem

i can torrent no problem i use utorrent noting problem because i still on Public IP not yet Private IP

I did. Internal info from TM higher ups. Within 12 months, all dynamic public IP will be moved to private IP. Except those with fix public IP package.
TM have the most public IP. Don't put much hope on other provider.  sweat.gif
Ya... Nearly all on private IP.

Anyway, IPv6 is the way to move forward.  whistling.gif

if i want upgrade 800Mbps within 12 months will be move to private ip ?????

i am on 100Mbps still on Public ip
if changed private ip i will upgrade i wanted stay Public IP cry.gif

You can request, but no guarantee they will approve. Have a chat with their help desk, but need to escalate. Not the typical help desk.
Eventually there will be no more dynamic public IP. Just static public IP remains.  bangwall.gif
Exactly. Not really TM's fault. They have to, and IPv6 is the way forward. Eventually there will be no more IPv4 (years to come, no worries)  whistling.gif
I don't think so. Their long term planning is fully IPv6.
At the moment, package above 100bmps, will get public IP.

You 100mbps will be moved to private IP sooner or later  sad.gif  They are actively doing it by batches.

if i want upgrade 800mbps i will be stay public ip but wont private IP right ???

For now, yes since the current exercise is for 100Mbps and below. However, rumours are that eventually all home subscriptions will be private IP.

you are 800mbps so you still on Public IP right

QUOTE(limcc @ Oct 17 2021, 12:55 AM)
Sorry, couldn't spend the time to read thru 100+ pages, how's the user experience of unifi?

Rant, skip if you prefer:
I'm from Muar Johor, was on TM streamyz 5Mbps few years ago, terminate it due to very slow speed--in xxx kilobit/sec at peak hour or cloudy day, worst, connection lost when raining. Change to 4G mobile of digi 3 years ago, did have improvement over streamyz but now its the same situation as streamyz 3 years ago. Can't watch YT @ 720p at peak hour, downloading from GD or updating Windows take forever, disconnection when raining.

Is this normal for internet of rural Malaysia using mobile connection?  what can I expect if I switch to unifi 100Mbps? Also, I read the first post, is triple play really a must? I saw the 100Mbps is data only.

My only requirement is stable speed >20Mbps at all time. Please advise. BTW, my location is "Taman Sri 3, Bakri, Muar", Unifi official please verify is my area covered. TIA.
*
i using unifi 100mbps i always getting full speed never slow its already stable since 2019
i don't have any problem long time using unifi fiber 100mbps

once you installed unifi fiber tm give crap router you will get trouble i also got tm give crap router so i unplug free crap router tm tplink then i connect my own ASUS Router wow more stable happy

QUOTE(limcc @ Oct 17 2021, 04:35 PM)
House have 5 person almost constantly hook on internet when at home, at peak hour, most have to switch to own mobile connection when gaming on phone. Digi infinite 150 jsut couldn't keep up, on good day with only one device active, speedtest do 20~25Mbps. At night when everyone is back at home, speedtest do ~10Mbps, actual experience is more like 1Mbps with slow loading of webpage and cosntant buffering of YT 720p. Have to ask other to stay of wifi when doing important stuff like booking air ticket, reserving hotel, video chatting oversea, etc, so I don't have to redo them again and again due to unresponsive page.

Hope unifi can make our life during Covid-19 more tolerable, will be using Asus RT-AC88U AiMesh with AC68U as node, or add Lyra Trio depends on signal quality. But all these are meaningless if the max speed is less than 10Mbps, we might as well use 11g wifi.  laugh.gif

Wish me luck.  thumbup.gif
*
Digi infinite 150 cannot handle speed due Tower base station is sharing not you alone explain outdoor many people use DIGI Line 4G you get slow
why night very slow look many house explain 30house more then that mean a lot people use so tower unable handle that why speed getting slow

Unifi is Fibre look like not sharing because infra many ports can handle speed compare Tower Base station 4G AND 3G cannot handle overload
