If I managed to get from Digi/maxis for reserved port then unifi come and get me extra port. Lol that time still can reject unifi? Cause I gave them my ic and bill for request on port.

yes you can reject unifi, automatically the extra port is also canceled, because the extra port is only reserved for unifi only.

While for other telko other have to wait for the port vacancy.

as you know, one TM FDP has 10 ports (8 normal ports and 2 extra ports). if 8 ports have been used there are only 2 extra ports left And the extra port is only given for Unifi only. for other users who want to use Maxis / Digi / Celcom will have to wait for the vacancy between the 8 ports

Like that I Better ask most of the ISP and see who got the port then just sign. I can't wait unifi anymore maybe a few months haha

From my experience, I am using Tp-link AX20 for my 20x75 double storey house (router location at GF middle of the house). Very good coverage, can be used at any corner of the house for both 30/100mbps (installation 21.11.2020 on 30mbps, upgrade 18.01.2021 to 100mbps).😁

Then what did u do with the old modem?

Just keep it aside, scare 1 days the one we using might breakdown.

Erm why not u take ax50/ ax3000 at that point because ax20 is only ax1800 right? Ax50 should cover larger space?

Well AX20 is sufficient for me, plus I read that AX50 have heating problem so that's 1 of the reason why i choice AX20. You can refer to lowyat router forum for more info.

Hey guys, just noticed tm start installing fiber cables outside my house area (finally after 15 years)

Wondering if can subscribe to broadband by  other telco or just unifi only once tm finished installing them

Seems like cheaper packages at higher speed are only offered for existing customers

I have several questions

1) Does Unifi has contract like 1 year/2 year
Or can I cancel anytime? Use 1 month then cancel also can?

2) How much bandwidth should I need for 720p and 1080p and 4k youtube/netflix
There is choice of 30mbps, 100mbps, 300mbps

3) The advertisement say premium entertainment if I pay more. What is the premium entertainment, is it netflix, astro or other?

4) What is wifi mesh and wifi booster? Are they useful?
*
It depends how many devices connected. 1-3 devices for 1080p still no problem imo. If more den can go higher. Also, u can upgrade to ax router for larger coverage on 5ghz

Just got 30mbps installed yesterday afternoon. They gave me huawei modem and fiberhome router. The router already problematic after installation. Can't login to wifi, timeout error. Called the contractor back, lucky they're still around the area doing 2-3 more installation. The guy blamed me for using the wps button to pair. Since my phone couldn't connect even with correct pw, timeout error left and right, of course I'll test with wps pairing. The guy sqid some bullshit like "lain kali jangan tekan butang tu, seting wifi lari".. wtf man. What is the wps button purpose if I can't use it doh.gif

Seems like they don't standardized the brand of router

When my house was under copper I used to get the orange Netis VDSL modem router. The crappiest shit I have ever got from Unifi. Then the moment I upgraded to fibre on last August, I got the Az tech router. The WiFi range is quiet bad if you are not sitting near to the router. Then at December got the TP link AC 1200 3 antenna router. The WiFi range is good but it does auto reboot randomly. Then on Wednesday I called unifi to upgrade the firmware from the 202000306 version to the latest available version. They told me there's a new firmware version available for this router. Then they told me the support department will upgrade the firmware. Within less than an hour the firmware has updated. Now its already been 4 days since the new firmware version and till now there's no auto reboot yet.

Yes the router it's quite unstable.

Service charge ONLY IF issues were originated from your side, meaning not TM fault.
E.g. You're using 3rd party router and have issues, changed back to TM provided router and issue gone, this consider as your fault and will be charged.

Nope. I said wanna upgrade firmware for my router only. They said wanna come my house to upgrade while others said can be upgraded over the phone. -.-
