Wah, got 6 months rebate from Maxis? Any requirements needed, like need to be Maxis prime member or?
*
No,just need to be a TM user

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jan 24 2022, 01:37 PM)
No downgrade allowed during contract.
I thought Maxis also has RM129 for 300mbps, can register through some agents. Do check out their thread.
*
Yes, that's for new registration, I got that already through an agent early this month.
Rm20 rebate off the usual RM149 plan

What a rediculous plan. People are already getting 300mbps for RM129 under SWU, and they still want to milk out new subscribers.
*
user posted image
Seems like they've pulled the calling plan off the regular 100mbps plan as well
No idea why people just keep on subscribing to unifi

Back on Unifi after moving into new place, was given the stock router, white Fibre Home one. Should I replace it with own router, or is the provided one enough? Thinking of getting TPLink AX20. Subscribed to 300mbps, and coming from 500mbps on Time previously, the speed performance is noticeable.
*
It's always recommended to switch from an ISP-provided router to your own
More functions, faster firmware updates, and less monitoring
Especially that fibre home router...pure garbage

I am currently using the D-Link 842 that Unifi supplied a few years back for the Turbo upgrade. My subscription is 800mbps but the fastest I ever get is 250Mbps.

So I might as well ask TM to come and replace the  Dlink 842 with the FiberHome router then?
*
Just buy your own, Tplink AX20 is enough

I've never used "cap ayam" but I did once say "your toilet paper router" to the TM phone rep.

As for OpenWRT routers, perhaps GL.iNET.
They have a Shopee channel, I believe. Delivery from HK.
If I recall correctly, their current Wifi-6 router costs around RM500. Can't remember the model number, but it's nicknamed "Flint" I think.
I've used their smaller travel routers before, back when there was no coronavirus and I used to stay at hotels a lot.

Guys, i subscribe unifi 300Mbps for 199 monthly, but why some of us here only 159?
*
They got special plans for loyal customers, super loyal customers, customers that are jumping to another ISP
Of course, they'll milk the S*it out of new customers rolleyes.gif

You're not forced to subscribed to City Broadband on Allo network.

It's by far the best open network with the most choices of ISPs with symmetrical speed plans.

You can subscribe to Celcom, DiGi, Maxis, Umobile(EXCLUSIVE) besides City Broadband on TNB Allo network.

Umobile is the most special if you're on Allo network. If you bundle your home fibre plan with Hero P99 postpaid plan, can get SYMMETRICAL 1Gbps home fibre plan at only RM150.
Not even TIME can beat this offer!
*
I think the same goes to viewquest on Allo's infra, symmetric speed and cheaper than riding on TM's infra
You can also get Unifi on their infra, but what kinda reta*d will do this rclxms.gif

My friend that submitted a transfer request to Maxis just got a call from TM.

At first, they ask why he's transferring. My friend mentioned bad pricing and poor network service at night.
Then TM rep cut him off middle of the sentence saying if they provide him RM129 300mbps, will he stay with unifi.

Of course, he threw out Maxis's free 6 months promo plan...

TM rep then do the calculation,
said: "Wah 149+6% was 157.94, so free 6 months was 18months
157.94 x 18 =RM2842.92
129+6% was 136.74 which was the same as your current 100Mbps price
136.74 we don't have any special free promotion, so was 24months are RM3281.76

wow beza banyak ni
you saved RM438.84

aku buat unifi support dah xxyear, first time dapat pricing more acceptable on competitor..."

My friend kacau the rep any chance of seeing cheaper plans from unifi this year.
Rep mentioned no more discounted plans, but they'll push out 1 and 2Gbps plans for residential users soon.

Furthermore, when mentioning Allo's deployment and 300mbps RM109 plan, rep replied:
"We unifi here knows about ALLO under TNB, we already have a lot of customers transfer to there, but we are way better than allo fiber, specially on technical support and unifi tv"

Still let him transfer in the end lah, but it is obvious TM marketing strategy still kinda fked up as always.

well... cheap pricing but bad quality got what use? even as cheap like Allo i also wont consider this lame TM offer  mad.gif  mad.gif

peak hours keep got issue on loss packet till now no solution only know to ignore the issue.

I was having issues with FB and Twitter images not loading every night, and often Youtube videos loading super slow.
Often lag spikes in-game during the same time.
Seems like a common problem for TM users in the southern region.

I am referring to customer retention offers which encourage them to stay back after 2 years end of contract.

Maxis is very aggressive on this type of offers. If you choose to take up their 6 months pay for 30M but get 100M plan, you only need to lock for 1 year contract. If you decide to terminate early only pay 6 mths x RM40 rebate = RM240 one off penalty and you're free.
*
I thought Maxis's minimum termination fee is RM500?

*
Doesn't really matter for most Maxis fiber users
Why?
Cause most people's infra belongs to TM
They couldn't even provide symmetric 1G, let alone 10G doh.gif
