Push the car to around 15km/h or more, jump in the car, clutch in, (still clutch in) select 2nd Gear, quickly release the clutch, jerk and car starts

Not really recommended for modern cars with ecu and catalytic converters, I done before on myvi with no damage but the car was definitely not running at its best.

If old datsun sunny or first gen proton saga then by all means go for it

Bullshit.  Lololol

Catcon does nothing, or rather, affects nothing when you bump start.

ECU also doesn't, ecu is already powered up at the time you wanna bump start it.

Topkekkkkkk the difference between regular start and bump start is only not using the starter la bongok. If you spin your car tyre fast enough when it's on floor jack it can start also la (using the clutch dump in 2nd).

Tokok la u don't mislead. It's just placebo effect

I was sharing my experience and advice I have been given before. Perhaps I may have been misled.

Sure, my dials misbehaving and electrics not working properly were all placebo. That they worked fine after battery change also I dreamt up.

Also, if battery is totally flat how would the ecu be powered? Pluck electricity from the air?

Want to call ppl bongok also watch your own words first. I am willing to admit I may be mistaken but if someone breaks something on your advice will you refund them?

As usual, /k/ full of geniuses with overinflated sense of their knowledge.

I admit before this I was misinformed, in common cases push start in a modern car too is not a problem. But if I were you, I'd do some background on following scenarios:

a) Battery being completely dead, not even enough to power up alternator rotor winds and fuel pump, and the slow push is insufficient to provide enough power

b) Issue not just being weak battery, but other as factors well leading to unburnt fuel being dumped into the cat converter (commonly referenced in many car manuals as a warning against push start)

I will concur with you, most cases it's non issue but not 100% foolproof
