You might wanna search through this thread for the chairs/brands you want more info on. Other forumers have given some comments about Merryfair, I think generally positive review smile.gif

Wanna check with owners of M57...

Anyone of you encountering issue where the lumbar support would drop by itself after sometime eventhough u already set it to the preferred height? I wonder is it normal, an issue with my sitting, or an issue with my chair
*
🙋‍♀️No I don't have that problem. It's supposed to click to specific positions though, just like the headrest/armrest adjustment. Did you hear them clicking as you adjust up/down?

Ok maybe videos will be better. These are for owners of M57 to check...

Actually i have 2 issues with the lumbar support:

i) as mentioned above, it will drop height after i sit for some period. But as you can see in the video its hard to raise the support with one hand so I'm not too sure if there's an issue with the chair itself...
https://streamable.com/bb7js2
Mine is like that also, have to adjust with both hands. It also clicks per adjustment level so I think same.

ii) the extension itself is flimsy as shown in the video... is this normal? The flimsiness will go away after i extend it all the way and it stiffens up but then I dont feel comfortable sitting that way. On minimal extension it is flimsy as shown
https://streamable.com/t6dy8c
Uh that looks defective... Mine doesn't wiggle like that at all.

Lastly I just used the chair for 2 months+... anyone experiencing the squeking sound as shown when u try to lay on the backrest?
https://streamable.com/tkf7vo
Actually yeah same... At first I was alarmed too, especially when I just wanted to lie down all the way, it didn't feel safe... Few months in now, I don't care about the sound anymore and I can lie down on my back as far as I want, so far I have never been injured lah haha.

Just want to check everything before I raise a warranty case with the seller

Also I like to sit cross leg sometimes wearing shorts, so am curious if the full mesh seat for Sihoo M57 will be rough on the skin?
*
I'm Sihoo M57 user here. It took me a while to get used to the mesh sensation, but I pretty much just relax with my usual short pants. The mesh "prints" onto my skin and takes a while to... disperse, but it's nothing uncomfortable. Never got any sort of injury/scraped off skin using the chair.

Additional note:
My workspace is not air conditioned and can get very hot when I play games. The mesh seat is a lifesaver for such heat; I can't imagine sitting on a leather seat. I'm not saying it's like sitting in a cool shady forest, but the mesh really doesn't accumulate heat and cook you from under/back unlike leather.

Hi all,

I am planning to get a good office chair, so been wondering which of the following type is good for back and also for long hour sitting and working from home.

...
*
Judging from the 3 types you shared, it seems you haven't decided what type of material you prefer: mesh, leather, fabric etc. I personally recommend mesh (and using one myself).

Comfort: mesh doesn't accumulate heat like leather (worst) and fabric would. In terms of material softness/"nice to touch", it's not as good as fabric because it generally feels harsher... But rest assured, it doesn't prick or rub your skin in the wrong way.

Durability: I can't tell yet because my seat is only 1yo... But so far so good la. I hate leather because I sweat quite a lot and leather requires more care, else it deteriorates real fast and bad.

Once you've decided on material, you'll be able to narrow down your selections. Generally, the seat should be adjustable in as many ways as possible to get the best fit. To give more perspective, I'm using Sihoo M57 which is within your budget (?) But doesn't have adjustable armrest width wise so the seat becomes too wide for my arms to rest properly:(

Hello. How long have you been using Sihoo M57? I have been thinking about getting one. It has become a 'need' rather than just a 'want' recently.
*
Hey there, I've been using it for a year+ now. Generally happy with it although I have to say cleaning is kinda troublesome... I just wipe the outer layers mostly....

There's no need to clean office chair imo

Ahh my home office can get very dusty y'see... I'm even embarrassed to prove my point 🙈

Maybe one thing might come handy for anyone who gets Sihoo M57 and have dusty environment like me: use air compressor to blow the dust that settles at the compartment right below the mesh lol.

Heyyo, I wrote a review on M57 some pages back. You can go to desktop version and find my posts for it... In short, I'd say get V1 if you have the budget.

i read ur review..

how tall and whats ur weight btw?

does the chair provide good support for ur body?
*
163-165cm, below 60kg
The seat doesn't sink if that's what you're asking.... I don't have an ergonomic workstation to pair well with the chair, so unfortunately my shoulders/arms do sore a little after a long time.

the armrest..

got show any signs of cracking?

Not at all. I'm not sure what's the material.... Definitely not leather so the skin won't peel off like old leather lah. But not fabric either, it's too hard for my liking but you can press it down geh, maybe rubber?
