9months on this chair, didnt face this issue

i dont have an aeron but i tested it for quite a while, personally i prefer contessa's multi-density foam seat as it's more friendly on the area behind the knee if you wear shorts, aeron's seat pan does not encourage you to sit cross-legged/kangkang as it is more sculpted
i also prefer the straight lumbar support on the remastered aeron
the only downside of foam seat is it gets pretty warm if you dont turn on your aircond on a hot day. cant vouch for contessa's longetivity, dont have enough data and sample size, but TBH i dont think it'll last any shorter than other chairs unless you relocate the chair alot

also one area aeron does better is in the spare parts should you need to replace something, you can find heaps of replacement parts on ebay and amazon (usually seat pan/armpads from what i noticed)

side note: if you're considering aeron, do give mirra2 a try, the butterfly back feels pretty awesome when you lean back, it flexes to allows some form of micromovement on your shoulder from what i remember

I went thru the exact route, I bought the Markus out of desperation right after MCO1
I then sold it off and upgraded to Steelcase on end of 2020 when I got the chance(got stock la), no regrets at all even though it's like 6x the price of Markus

it's a big jump yes, but the steelcase still feels brand new after abusing it daily for about a year now (I WFH full time and I spend a lot of my time at night on the same chair listening to music)

series 2, series 1 is made in china

back then the gesture is only slightly more expensive due to a rm5k for 2 chair promo
but i picked the series 2 for the mesh back

currently im contemplating to offload the steelcase for a herman miller

comfort wise they are comparable (then again i have not had any prolonged sitting experience with HM, based on the limited time i had in Trax, and HM offers the adjustment i need from the chair)
i have no issues spending hours on my SC though
im contemplating about HM because of the fully mesh back and seat pan, my ass thinks mesh > cushion
