The delay is obviously how they make money from you. If they straightaway provide you with real-time data they will make less money. There are business reasons behind. Brokerage business is cut-throat business especially in the US (think "commission-free" trading app and M&A between TDA and Schwab), so this is unsurprising.

If you are a trader then delayed data is unacceptable, but for long-term investors, the 1-2 minute delay in an uneventful day would not really have a big impact in your long-run profits. Plus IBKR's P&L data is in real-time, with a bit of maths, you can work out the actual securities' price easily.

Lawsuits are the norm in any brokerage firms. Tiger is backed by IBKR as well. tongue.gif  And not to mention Tiger has its own problem: https://geoinvesting.com/up-fintech-holding...ndering-scheme/

FINRA has a database that list out lawsuits by firm, I think.

https://brokercheck.finra.org/

You need to be prepared for all these when you begin investing. This is part and parcel of investing.

question...is there a direct way to buy USD in Tiger using MYR? Instead of going through MYR to SGD in CIMB SG bank then transfer this to Tiger..then converting SGD to USD in Tiger to buy US Stocks... how do you guys do it?

The way I did it was through online TT through maybank2u. Other banks should have this feature as well. Basically, maybank will do the conversion from RM to USD and send the USD to your Tiger broker USD account. It's quite fast. I did a second TT just recently. After 10 mins, the money was reflected in my tiger brokers account.

As of now, I do not recommend using Tiger Brokers. Nor do I recommend against it.

Consider Futu Moomoo, its UI is more polished, and everyone gets a unique DBS bank account number to deposit into, safer than Tiger IMO.

how much moomoo rate for purchasing? less or same as Tiger?
