Do Tiger Brokers allow trading of partial lots for USA stocks as some USA stocks are real expensive?

I think if withdraw to DBS/POSB Singapore, no fees.

thanks!
withdrawal fee = USD25

same bank account and account holder, yes, its sorta like anti money laundering
afaik, trading212 accepts bigpay, according to forummer here tho apparently they revise their fees
*
If withdraw to DBS/POSB Singapore account, no withdrawal fee right?

A bit confused. If we transfer S$ from Singapore bank account to tiger brokers, it will remain in S$ in tiger brokers account right? It will only be in US$ if we choose to convert it to US$

1. usually withdrawal via TT/wire transfer will cost $$, local banks does not

2. i am not sure

Thanks. For me, as I have a DBS Singapore account, withdrawal should not be a problem then.

It doesn't matter if we pick deposit SGD, USD, HKD deposit it still says DBS account, so maybe its a bit like DBS Vickers, they are using a multi-currency account?
*
honsiong I don't think they allow us to deposit USD or HKD directly into USD and HKD account right if we are Malaysian citizens? I think its more like we deposit SGD but then we can choose to convert the SGD into HKD or USD in Tiger Brokers?

I think lah, citizenship only matters when one signs up, the rest depends on whether you have SG bank account or not. I should have opened a DBS multi-currency acc to try before leaving SG, I think Tiger accepts USD and HKD if the transfer is done locally within SG.

If tak da SG bank acc, then have to send SGD over then convert in app, I think got a tiny spread.
*
Thanks

In general withdrawal of SGD to any sg a/c is foc unless is in excess of SGD 200k.

Yes. If you transfer SGD to tiger it would remain as SGD. The tiger forex rate is much competitive vs bank so its worth to do conversion there.
*
Ahh..didn't know about the S$200k thingy. I guess like that, best to transfer multiple times in order to avoid the charges

QUOTE(a16791 @ Dec 28 2020, 08:27 AM)
If dont have SG bank ac I think more straight forward . Just wire the currency you need directly to tiger .

Even if you have SG bank ac with USD / HKD you still have to wire the amount as tiger does not accept cheque deposit. Exception case would be dbs where its just online transfer and no charge incurred.

No, Tiger Brokers do not allow buying of fractional shares like eToro does. If you want to buy fractional shares, need to use eToro but some counters are not available in eToro, not sure why as I do not use that.
The one advantage of buying US shares is that the minimum quantity you can buy is 1 share, so that makes it a lot more easier even if the share price is like Tesla. Still can buy 1 share and the cost also won't be that high.
*
Fractional lots, not shares. I don't know can buy fractional shares--first time I've heard of this. Yeah, some USA shares are damn expensive to buy 1 lot.

Tiger Brokers may actually dethrone IBKR, TD Ameritrade etc to be the easiest brokerage for Malaysians to open account and trade US stocks with next to nothing in commission fees.

Key benefits:-
1. They support mykad KYC out of the box and even approved my account over the weekend, crazy.  rclxms.gif
2. If you have SG bank acc, it's brain dead easy to get started
3. If you don't have SG bank, read No Money Lah's guide as mentioned below.
4. It's regulated by Monetary Authority of Singapore, and use DBS as custodian.

honsiong Did you use the referral in the link you provided? If so, what rewards do we get?

QUOTE(a16791 @ Dec 22 2020, 03:48 PM)
Confirm the ease of opening for tiger brokers. Manage to get some cash back using the referral code too.

Best part is both party receive cash back.
*
a16791 How much cash did you receive? I clicked on the link that honsiong provided (no moneylah) for referral but my account doesn't show any cash or rewards. Only saw under 'rewards center' 1 commison and 1 quote card and free monthly market data.

Has anybody transferred stocks from other brokers to Tiger Brokers? How long did it take and was there any problem?

Honsiong 1) Also, I transferred SGD from Singapore bank to Tiger Brokers. Noticed that they gave me a USD cash figure. Is it automatically they will convert my SGD to USD or is my $ still in SGD?

2) If I were to buy US stocks, is it I have to convert my SGD to USD first or will Tiger Brokers automatically convert for me when I buy the US stock

I know. I tried adding stocks to watchlist and couldn't do it. Wanted to buy some stock but due to app difficulty, until now never place order. Have to wait for when I'm in a better mood and more free to figure out how to use the app.

I only use the app solely for order. Watch list I use yahoo finance .

16791 I see. I finally managed to add stock to watchlist. However, noticed that I need to convert my SGD to USD before I can buy shares. Wish they would automatically convert it for me when I buy as I tend to use market order. By having to convert first, always have to convert extra as rate also indicative. Wish they would improve this part like how FSM does.

Each broker has their own system. Just have to get used to it . Tiger is good for reading info in HK stocks provided you can read in mandarin . Of course they can auto translate but I find it more difficult to read .

More interested in USA stocks instead of HK stocks. biggrin.gif

1) Having problems with the handphone app. It keeps asking me to log in (but there's no place/button to log in). All my individual orders/stocks are missing although under 'trade' I can see my total cash and total stocks $ . When I clicked on me--tiger account, it shows I have $0.

So how to log in? This app really weird. If I am really logged out, how come in some parts can see some of my stuff but in others, completely $0 and no orders fulfilled.

2) The commission free for 5 trades is only $0.99 and not $1.99? Anybody got the full $1.99?

Try using your 4G  see whether you are able to solve the problem .

Ya the trade rebate is $0.99 . Didn't bother to ask why it's not $1.99.
*
a16791 How to use 4G to do it on android phone? Sorry, not tech savvy.

Thanks. Anyway, got back my individual trades just now without having to do anything. Funny thing is apps still asking me to log in. rclxub.gif If this happens again, will switch from wifi to phone telco and see what happens

I am no tech expert, but I can suspect so. VPN usage is likely the only means to access it. Try using Opera with VPN on to check.

They already blocked TD Ameritrade US website.

I am increasingly worried that they will move ahead with banning IBKR and TD Ameritrade SG. Last in their list would likely be FSM SG.

Too bad we poor Malaysians.
