Someone suggested ax3000 but actually that one over budget already...

But of course hands itchy

Thanks

But getting 56u not severely bad?

AX3000 support up to 160MHz channel (dunno which device can use)

AX56U support up to 80MHz

AX3000 got more bandwidth on 5ghz which is theoritical up to 2402mbps while AX56U only up to 1201mbps...

depend on your device and how much connected to devices to router...

i using ax3000 and now easily can get 800mbps for my laptop (change to wifi 6 card) and my iphone12 pro max...

i purchased ax86u, to solve issues of my wifi went down when 2-4 device do concurrent video concall (wfh+online school) on my ax56u

it was way overbudget, but the best decision i ever made.

ax56u now serves as aimesh member to extend 5Ghz coverage

Totally agree on this.
Felt like much more stable compare the black cylinder.
Speed test black cylinder go so many jitter on speed.
Can see updown updown on test.
22ms tested on off peaktime

Asus straight line no fucked.
3ms tested after update firmware

Both to same tmnut server

Ts if you want top up rm200 get the better 1.

If you're living in a condo unit <1.2k sq ft, the AX56U will be fine.

If 2 storey house, AX3000 will be the minimum you will need for decent internet connection. To get good connection, +1 mesh node will required.

I have ASUS AX11000 as main router and AX56U as mesh node. Gooding.
Then again, I have A LOT of devices that connects to them..

7 xiaomi cctvs, 10 smart plugs, 6 smart light bulbs, 4 Google Nests, 2 Smart IRs, 2 Smart TVs, 2 PCs, 2 Laptops, 1 android box, several Hps...

So... ask yourself... what is your need?

if only for gaming and a few other devices... just get the Asus RT-AX55 AX1800 if you prefer Asus brand... otherwise TP-Link got AX1500 at around RM250+/-...

I'm in a semi-d (3 storey), main router AX86U + AX3000 and AX55 acting as mesh nodes, 1 router per floor, weakest 5 GHz signal will be around -60 db

Chances are you may be a getting only a weak signal in the toilet with 1 x 56U even on 2.4 GHz

Adding 1 cheap router as mesh node will make a big difference

Auto switch with SmartConnect but you have to tweak the signal/bandwith value for nice failover.

No wonder tq.
I saw they got auto switch but no either 1. For now internet much more stable before using that black cylinder.

Now i even can set dns, and lesser ads compare with the black cylinder.

My black cylinder went back into it's box the first day. icon_idea.gif

Anyhow the AX56U 2.4GHz is weaker than my old N18U. (it was a flagship router after all)

Don't ignore TP-Link.

They got some very good AX routers too and waay cheaper than ASUS.

I've used TP-Link routers for years before (C5400X router was my main router before I upgrade to AX wifi 6, changed to ASUS to give it a try)

If you want TP-Link AX3000, you can get it at around RM300 vs ASUS AX3000 which is around RM700 (that is over twice the price compared to TP-Link's offering)

See here:

If your issue is coverage, then get a proper Mesh WIFI system.

but for Wifi 6 Mesh WIFI system, its not going to be cheap...

Almost want to grab that ax3000 while i was in lowyat just now.
Not sure my current ac68u start to have problem or the tplink maxshit give me problem.
And....no shit ac68u still expensive as fucukyeemai.
*
My main router for around 6 years was the AC68U

It's still usable, but I just swapped it (as a mesh node) with the crapp AX55 I bought on 12.12

In truth, the AC68U is still a very capable router, and the overall performance seems better than AX55

If not mistaken, AC68U is still selling for around 450-500

Used 2 TP-Links and ....
- They will come with a model name and change the hardware in it over time without telling. Only version is mentioned in the sticker.
- Firmware update is pretty non-existence.

Went Asus and no looking back. biggrin.gif

There is 2 version i saw in viewnet.
1 is about rm700 and another 1 about rm800.
I have no idea why the one more expensive about rm100 than the another. The info written at the both box look same to me.

I saw the price tag for 2 ac68u about rm985.
Before i bought asus, my house have alot of wifi dead spot as the router (tplink and dlink) is place on the 1st floor. Using wifi extender also cant solve it.
Lastly bought the asus ac68u and all this deadspot dissappear.
I also impressed as the wifi signal can even reach outside my house gate.

Someone suggested ax3000 but actually that one over budget already...

But of course hands itchy

What say you
Thanks

But getting 56u not severely bad?
What you mean and the other is old one refer to ax3000 ya?

Topup a bit, get TUF-AX3000.

On specs, it’s a clone brother to AX3000 (which is modelled as AX58u).

On the internal, it’s a clone to the hai keras AX82u.

So if you manage to softmod it (TUF-AX3000) one day, you can technically unlock it to AX82u for free.

If you buy from All IT (esp the KLCC outlet), the AX3000 will be expensive

Order from Viewnet or Oookas during sales, there will be some discounting

The TUF gaming version has the same specs as the basic + a dedicated gaming port + some gaming customizations in the BIOS

I def bought my AX3000 for <700 around 5 months ago

If you consider TP-link, then might as well consider Hualaowei AX3 Pro, similar performance like Tp-link but much better supports on firmware/UI/app and also easy to do mesh (wired or wireless).

At first I also thought Asus so expensive ridiculous bangsawan pricing. But after I got myself TUF-AX3000 (for cheap during 11.11, RM46X), it does have its appeal as bangsawan brand for router, so much more playability and customisable/finetuning settings.

This is new to me ....

I thought the AX82U would be closer to AX86U, since both have 4x4 5GHz MIMO capability, as compared to the TUF AX3000 which only has 2x2 MIMO

Trust me, there is a HUGE HUGE difference between the performance of AX3000 vs the Asus AX8-series ......

Nope, 82u is just the AX3000 with extra RGB and 4R4T unlocked by default. The real deal is 86u and above.

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/internet...8u-6394549.html

The TUF-AX3000 in Tongsan has an “AssasinCreed” mode, where it got unlocked to the same 4R4T like 82u does, reaching the theoretical speed of 5400 for free.

Additionally, better wait for sale or buy from Taobao, their pricing is much much better than our RM700ish pricetag.

Damm, I should have bought the TUF version instead then ....

Although I'm not sure that 160 MHz 4x4 will even be usable if your laptop is >2m away from the router

In my case, I have just disabled the 160 MHz feature altogether

Not heavy user then go for 56u.

Buy.
I bought my 56u at 460 at local store. Passby then straight beli.

Of coz, in shopee selling 420 during 12.12 but with shipping to my house need around rm20. So extra rm10 i just buy it in local store. Plus my 3 parcel recently came in very very not good looking. 1 even pancaked.

If i saw this i straight buy lel.
For me from stock to asus router does a big leap.
Avg test speed before 56u
50mbps ~ 9x~100, 30~40upload not evertime same.

Now everytime test 103mbps /54upload.
3days test all 3days same speed.

Im very skeptical at 1st until i asked jimbeam and blacktubbi.
And k.

TP-Link is fine from my personal experience using their C5400X, Archer C1200 and Deco M4 (Mesh Wifi).

If you are referring between Tp-Link X50 (AX3000) and Asus RT-AX3000, indeed TP Link is half the price of Asus.
But Asus can be made into Mesh Wifi system (AiMesh) by linking another AX router from them, TP-Link don't have this function yet.

Another forumer suggested previously that Huawei AX3 Pro (also AX3000) is around the same price as Tp-Link X50 BUT with Mesh Wifi capabilities:

See here (RM249): https://shopee.com.my/-Original-Huawei-Mala...6352.5341807323

https://consumer.huawei.com/en/routers/ax3-quad-core/

buy two of those Huawei AX3 Pro, can probably cover whole house full bar Wifi.... brows.gif

Sifu, does Asus separate their product lineup from the rest of the world just like other brands? Do they make separate China versions in order to comply with China's wifi transmit power regulation of100mW. I'm keen on getting TUF-AX3000, but I'm afraid of the wifi transmit power cum signal strength catch. Can I buy China's version then flash global firmware to get more than 100mW power?

I think some of their product do have China-specific variants

But generally I read through online all Chinese are happy with the performance after changing their region to AUS.
