Hi. Is the Dunlop Formula D05 a directional type tire? Can I switch it left and right? Tried googling the tire but found no documentations. The treads looks like it might be directional but there's nothing on the sidewall indicating that it's a uni-directional tire.

It's it is directional it will say on the sidewall with a rotation direction

Directional tyre also can be switched left to right. Just unmount the tyre and remount it on the other wheel/flip the wheel

The sidewall only say outside and inside.

Then there's a really small inconspicuous Dunlop arrow. I'm thinking that might be their only clue to which direction it should rotate?

It's asymmetric design, not directional.

It is asymmetric. Look for the inside and outside on the sidewall. Forget the Dunlop arrow. But D06 has been out for a while now replacing the D05.

Alright thanks. I'm trying to figure out which tire is bad, I got a pair of D05 relatively new should be used less than a year. Tried rotating them, changing sides left to right, front and back. No matter what I do there's always a weird tire noise coming from the left side. I think I'll have to assume that I both of them has gone bad due to chronic bad alignment issue.

Replaced bearing already last week, that helped to fix alignment issue plus noise issue got better. I would really prefer if another bearing rosak because the bearing is cheap to replace. Moved the front wheels to back, the noise becomes quieter, so I'm guessing confirmed la its the tires. The weird thing is that if I replace the bad pair of wheels left or right, they always makes noise from left if I turn right. Probably have something to do with its asymmetrical tread when it placed on the left. hmm.gif

ok. if not CV joint...then you right probably tire

but not because of asymmetric tread... most likely uneven wear from suspension problems

also... new bearing installed badly/damaged can also make sound

CV Joint also new. Accidentally did a complete restoration on the front end. I'm already out of things to replace.

This morning finally got someone to sit on the rear passenger seat to confirm the sound. It seems that it was the tires alright.

So any recommendation for 195/55/15 tires? Prefer one with less road noise.
