We were out buying fish in Pantai Remis today when we decided to pop over at GC Ann to check out this bike in the flesh.

Wahhh... quite surprising, man. It's pretty well built, interestingly designed, quite light & pretty fukkin cheap at RM29.2k OTR (1st pty insurance) cash.

That shit about beating the Leoncino? Pretty damn true - you won't find nasty welds anywhere & the unseen innards under the seat scream quality. No wonder the Leoncino now sells for a hell lot less than before.

Gonna go for a test ride next weekend.

Wife likes it better than the SV650, despite the inconvenience of the ekor kontot and the 180-deg parallel twin config.

After your experience with that India bike.
You still want to take the chance of getting a China bike?

Just curious, what's the big deal with spoked wheels if the bike will be used 99% on paved roads and highways? To me, they're hard to clean and adds to the height (I'm vertically challenged). I prefer the alloy wheel version which they aren't bringing in

These bikes are designed mainly to go off-road . Adventure rides.
Spoke wheels are more sturdy than ones piece alloy rims.

And with all the off-road trashing, the wheels may go out of alignment. This type of rims is easier to get it straighten up again by tweeking the spoke tension.

Quite similar case with the sudden popularity of SUVs and pickup trucks. People want the look only.  tongue.gif

From the pics above the spoked rim option appears to be in 19" at the front (just like the rim on the V-strom 650). To give you a size comparison, the rear is 17".

The two base flavours both run a 19" + 17" combo, the diff is that the Sport version features alloy rims while the Touring version has spoked rims.

The newer Sport R version runs 17" on both ends.

I have one full suspension mountain bike with this set up . Front wheel bigger than the rear wheel. Mullet .
Front 29"
Rear 27.5"

Main reason to have bigger front wheel so that rolling over obstacles is easier and more control. And less bumpy
