From what I have been told, all the legitimate retailers of the PS5 have waiting lists miles long and this has been the case for a very, very long time now. My guess is that people are content with being on the waiting lists since it's more or less a guarantee that they will get a console, eventually. And since the drops are so infrequent, these retailers can no longer open up new pre-orders for would be customers and need to cater to those people who already have a slot on their aforementioned waiting lists.

The only people to my knowledge that do have new slots open are HG Time. Pretty much everyone else, Impulse, Heavy Arm, Tiny Robot, and GH no longer accept preorders.

Maxlink does have slots open from time to time if you ask them but when I did a year or so ago, they put it the console as part of a bundle. And that bundle was so egregious in terms of quality (think PS5 cooler and silicone controller coverings plus games you will never play willingly) I just abandoned that opportunity. They may have changed since then though.

Anyway, it won't hurt to ask these retailers via their social media channels.

Just now saw SONY web drop 1 normal & 1 digital set. Anybody who need pls keep refreshing the F5 button mayb gt chance to get it.

u can try to look out for toypanic bundle release as well which i got my friend his fifa23 ps5 bundle.

In FB group looking so many people purchased ps5 with Retail Price but then resell again. Mostly the price are higher than the retail price. Why those people doing like this!? And some other people unboxed and used few months (actually unboxed can called as second hand) also can offer price expensive than the new console price.

Is it still difficult to get a PS5 now??

I honestly would have waited...have waited 2 years already but then FF16 is coming out next year and I don't think our condition will even improve. May just cave in and buy from scalpers since authorized sellers all are scalpers themselves with their crazy PWP. 

Until today there's still people arguing about PWP and scalping.

Reality is, if you look at it objectively:

Forced PWP (without choice of items) = indirect scalping.
Forced scalping = straight up jacking you.

I'd rather pay for scalpers than forced PWP. At least the former is more honest about blatantly taking your money.

There's really not much of a difference between items that you don't want vs no items at all, ya know?

You could argue that you could sell the items from the PWP off. Sure I guess, but the way I see it - that's wasting time and effort. I think my time is worth more than the RM700-RM1500 being scalped for so... yeah for me, I don't care. If I'm gonna get scalped, I wanna get scalped without wasting my time.

What makes you think that the scalpers will not sapu this new bundle as well? They will grab this opportunity as well since they know most people will want to play GOW in the upcoming festive season. Not to mention those next year big releases such as FF16, FF7 rebirth, RE4 remake, Dead Space remake, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Spider-Man 2. More people will buy from the scalpers eventually.

PS5 already 2 years old now, and we still need to fight with scalpers in order to grab one. What a crazy world.

Technically, we did fight with them, fight against the speed, when it comes to pre-order/online order.  Ah..I miss the good old days when we need to queue in front of the store for the new tech release. Of course scalpers will go to queue as well. But at least it's not as bad as the online purchasing. The chances will be bigger.
