I came across Bullguard (Rhino Guy), then the Wandering Wight (Baby Monk). After that, Guangzhi (Fire Staff), followed by Baw Li Guhh Lang (The Froggo). Forward towards Lingxuzi (White Doggo) and lastly, it's Guangmou (Snake Guy).

I'm ready for PS5 Pro.

Keeping my fingers crossed for something concrete to be announced in late September with the hopes of console will be available in Malaysia by first quarter of 2025.

Fat PS5 and vertically placed. Had the overheat message once. I opened up my PS5 and cleaned the internal (including the fan). I checked my heatsink on the motherboard also but nothing much to be cleaned as it's pretty much clean. I just wiped the vents and the fan. No message ever since. I'm on my NG+ run already.

I need to factor in the price for the disc drive since mine is the OG unit. It's not detachable.

Let's say PS5 Pro RM3,199 + Disc Drive RM500 = RM3,700 all in?

Well, if that's the case, I'll stop console gaming and just go full PC gaming.

Nope, going to skip the PS5 Pro. The price is already hurting and to combo it with the disc drive. Hell no!

Chassis C CFI-1218A01 is an updated version of the OG PS5 with adjustments on heatsink(?).

Slim CFI-2018A01 is the slim version offering more compact and lighter in weight design + modular disc drive.

If you are going for PlayStation console gaming, I'd strongly recommend you to get the Slim (digital version). Seeing things panned out for PS5 Pro, digital is the future (instead of disc-based). If you have the budget, go for the PS5 Pro and don't look back.

The disc drive is fine. It's just that how things are unfold from Sony these days. I'm not too sure about the pricing of the Slim PS5 (with disc-drive) but you don't have the problem like me that got the OG PS5 which comes with built-in disc drive. The Slim disc drive and still be taken out and connect to the PS5 Pro or maybe PS6(?) too.

For your use case scenario, go for Slim (disc-based).

Before announcement of PS5 Pro: Nah, I'll stick with the disc version because I love the smell of plastic.

After announcement of PS5 Pro: Digital all the way.

Sad truth for me.

I'm sitting on the fence for the Pro. I'll wait for future titles if it's worth to get the Pro or otherwise just wait until PS6.

MH Wilds, MGS3 Delta, Black Myth Wukong, Phantom Blade, etc...These are some of the examples that might tilt me over to getting a Pro. Definitely won't be getting it on launch day but who knows maybe few months down the road. I'll just wait and see then only decide.

What made it worse is the exclusion of disc drive for that pricing. What a bummer. Would've felt less pain if I'm using the slim version +disc drive. But mine is the OG version with the disc drive built-in. Aduiii...

It surprises me that Black Myth Wukong yet to be listed in the PS5 Pro Enhanced listing.

Anyone that has a PS5 getting the FOMO feeling? I'm having some tingling sensation of that.

Looking forward to new releases in 2025 and see how things are going onward. By the way, Monster Hunter Wilds (Beta) is available to download and try.

I don't think all PS5 Pro enhanced games will achieve 60fps. It'll be back to square one, especially when it comes to fidelity. They give us something, they take some in return.
