Hehe, this is dedicated to AMD fans, as there is a similar thread on Intel's upcoming CPU (notice the almost similar topic title... ) One of the more interesting feature of the K10 is the new power management. Quote "New K10 processors will have new power and frequency management system. Each core will now work independently of the other, at its own frequency that may change dynamically depending on the load on each of the cores" A lot of technical info but will clear up a lot of things : http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/amd-k10.html

But their highend FX phenom core still stick in 90NM process technology.

i think intel penry or some more advance family also goin for the similar direction too......... i believe this is beneficial.. hopefully windows and may be someone can take advantage of this......
but i wander if the system would be stable in such way........all core working on their own pace hehe..........

Same tactics from AMD Clear their own old old inventory gua. Just some marketing gimmick before Phenoms launching. I think they send Intel some clear messages.

well.. we will have to wait n c how it perform.
maybe K10 will perform comparable to core2 at same clock, but the real challenge will be penryn.

Can't wait to see how these new CPUs perform. If you read the article, AMD promises two things: 1) Introduction of these CPUs at the end of August or beginning of September this year 2) A significant performance boost compared to previous CPUs, especially in applications with intensive floating-point calculations. This would be very interesting as we know that up to now AMD can't even touch, let alone compete, with Intel's CPU in this aspect.....

OEM manufacturers will get the cpu first before 10/9. i doubt amd could deliver since not even a single benchmarks was being shown to public. what are the reasons amd still holding off the benchmark since they already demo Stranglehold running their quad core.

QUOTE(ikanayam @ Aug 23 2007, 01:01 PM) How did you come to that opinion or assumption? More stable than what, specifically? Slightly OT but AMD's marketing VP Henri "We don't do soft launches/Ours is a native quad-core/Barcelona 40% better than Core2" Richards has resigned and official last day is said to be Sept 8 -> just 2 days before K10 is launched. Is this another Jim Allchin type of exit? <OTOH AMD was able to get Intel Europe's marketing VP a month ago>
