it is prepaid and it has no promo for buying iphones, i was just comparing total cost of ownership of buying without contract iphone + prepaid plan vs 24 months iphone with telco.
bolehland telco subsidy is quite pathetic which it almost as good as no subsidy.
Yeah, I too always calculate according to the way you do. Been comparing plans and the phone prices and also the entire cost of ownership.
Like you said, the subsidy is really pathetic, so ended up i went for the phone only and opting to go for the cheapest and decent enough telco plan which suits me (after all, I'm mostly working from home for now...)

You can't count the RM98 telco fees. It's service and if you already am paying that, then signing up with Telco makes sense.
However, you purposely sign up RM98 plan to get the "subsidized" iPhone, then fair game to calculated that in.
Well I guess you have your point too.
if your phone bill is paid for (by company or business) and that's the lowest amount of money you pay for the most suitable plan that you can digest, then it's gonna be worth it.
But if getting the phone with a plan which is more than you can consume (like getting a 50GB plan and barely use 10GB of it, because mostly connecting to the WiFi at work/home) then it's not so wise of a choice anymore. just my 2 cents.
