Remember to take your phone out from the case every once in a while and wipe the back, or the halo from the logo cut out could be permanent laugh.gif

Yeah I do wipe it often and I do have a metal plate partially sticking at the back of the phone for magnet car mount.
But not that particular about the small scratches, just wanna make sure phone is well protected in one piece for drops then happy enough already.

it is prepaid and it has no promo for buying iphones, i was just comparing total cost of ownership of buying without contract iphone + prepaid plan vs 24 months iphone with telco.

bolehland telco subsidy is quite pathetic which it almost as good as no subsidy.
*
Yeah, I too always calculate according to the way you do. Been comparing plans and the phone prices and also the entire cost of ownership.
Like you said, the subsidy is really pathetic, so ended up i went for the phone only and opting to go for the cheapest and decent enough telco plan which suits me (after all, I'm mostly working from home for now...)

QUOTE(dreamthief @ May 9 2021, 07:29 PM)
You can't count the RM98 telco fees. It's service and if you already am paying that, then signing up with Telco makes sense.

However, you purposely sign up RM98 plan to get the "subsidized" iPhone, then fair game to calculated that in.
*
Well I guess you have your point too.
if your phone bill is paid for (by company or business) and that's the lowest amount of money you pay for the most suitable plan that you can digest, then it's gonna be worth it.

But if getting the phone with a plan which is more than you can consume (like getting a 50GB plan and barely use 10GB of it, because mostly connecting to the WiFi at work/home) then it's not so wise of a choice anymore. just my 2 cents. icon_idea.gif

I'm wondering if anyone using HomePod Mini here? Does it work seamlessly with Spotify, or it's just Apple Music for now?

wah yesterday my phone flung out from my hand while I was walking, and the phone parachuted down to the rough floor. Luckily I have UAG civilian on. But I'm still feeling very shaken from the entire ordeal. Maybe got internal damage on my phone. T___T

Wow... I do have a few drops too I would be stunted as well... kinda like pause and pray before picking it up biggrin.gif
And I really do hope the camera would not be damaged as it's Sensor-shift optical (Pro Max)

Mine from Maxis too. Have a cosmetic defect on back glass. Was told to go QCD sunway and case pass to Apple SG. Now QCD sunway is closed due to MCO.
Looks like Maxis unit all lemon unit. Lol
Since you buy from telco, can bring back to Apple reseller like Mac City or Machines??

You can file a case to Apple support and speak to the srvice advisor.
I already file my case too bad QCD sunway is close due to MCO as Apple support need to call them so have to wait until 15 June 2021 (lets hope mco not extended).
*
So Maxis is paying less for lower quality lemon QC units?
that sounds worrying no?

It's running hot most of the time then? Probably the heat is killing the battery?

Just change to matte la. Any oleophobic coating also won’t be able to withstand the onslaught of alcohol.
*
Yeah, I'm using some random shop cheapo matte SP since day 1 I got the phone, all good until now and loving it.
It's not the thinnest SP I've used but it's good for the price. If i remember correctly it was less than RM15

Anyone else encountering weird inconsistent touch not registering?

Happening to me also… mainly in YouTube app. Sometimes like the app froze.

No la, I’m talking about the original Apple dongle one. Cause I just got it and I feel like it’s extremely fragile.
*
Yes, indeed it is. But it's a good piece of gadget to have when desperate measures turn up (Bluetooth headset not working or out of battery)
I used it a couple of times from my wife's old iPhone, and it sends chills down my spine everytime... so thin and flimsy! I chose not to if I can reach out to another wireless buds.

Nope like this

Pic 1 : phone was really close about half and inch from pen, just can’t focus

Pic 2 : taken by zooming in

Previous iPhones all no issue to focus on pic 1 when u r really near the object

Can give it a try , if no issues like pic 1 then I guess some 12 pro max users are unlucky
*
Having the same issue too...
Tried searching the net but mostly see ppl selling the macro clip on lens for 12 Pro Max as the fix... kinda sad...
Didn't know back then Macro shots were issues on 12 Pro Max...
But still overall happy with the phone on day to day use.

Reporting in for a 1-year-old unit (exactly 1-year-old)
Battery health dropped off from the 100% mark at month 11plus to 99%, and now it's standing at 97% battery health (dropped 2% within 1 month).

Not a very heavy user myself, only use for texting, some social media and media consumption.
I rarely charge up to 100% (probably done less than 10 times, where I forgot to unplug), I've never charged overnight too as I don't need to.
I've also tried not to let the charge slip below 20% (probably did it only a handful of times?)

Only use Navigation (Waze/Maps) IF I forgot to bring my IP7. Rarely play games too.

Yeah, so coming back to the iPhone from the droid side of things does make my mobile phone experience feel somewhat boring... but heck it's so functional and easy to use, which is what I actually need.
The lack of the fingerprint unlock feature really is a PITA at this pandemic time when we're out and about...

The best part is, it really took away much of my "battery about to die" fear and constantly looking for charging or the need of carrying a power bank... very much ease up some stress and my OCD on the battery % charge.
