QUOTE(TheVoIP @ Aug 18 2007, 12:14 AM) Hi, Since normal DDR667 price is high like RM145 per piece, I am wondering if I should get the HyperX series. The question now is value.... With overclockability in mind (motherboard gigabyte P35-DS3), how much can it go? Let's say with longer latency of 5-5-5-15? Hope experinced users can give some lights here... If you found review, please share as well. Thanks for reading... it depends on wat RAM and wat chipset ur RAM is running on... usually D9, Samsung and Hynix are the best choice... get Crucial from Shawty also not bad... My advice: Don go for Kingston anymore... Kingston can use a walking stick these days... QUOTE(HaHaNoCluE @ Aug 18 2007, 12:50 AM) i can run my hyper-x ddr800 at 1000mhz with 5-5-5-18 2.3vdimm before i'm running this 24/7 at 2.05V...

QUOTE(Traveler @ Aug 21 2007, 01:04 PM) Last weekend I bought 2x 1GB of Kingston Value Ram DDR2-800s (without heatspreader). I forgot to check the chips for details before I stuck on some cheap heatspreaders. But I got them to 900 at stock voltage and timings (5-5-5-15) System was a E6550 @3.15GHz (7x450) stock voltage on IP-35 mobo. Hadn't downloaded Orthos yet to do a stability test, but I ran a 10-hour overnight MPEG encoding batch job which maxed out the 2 cores. So I think it's stable enough. Didn't expect the RAM to go so easily to 900 (wasn't originally planning to OC, so I decided not to splurge on RAM), so will be trying for more in the coming days. 1GB kingston RAMs are all either Hynix or Samsung... no need to check... but dunno which chipset model number la... and 900 is 2 low for u... QUOTE(HaHaNoCluE @ Aug 29 2007, 02:32 PM) xms2 has a ddr800 cl4 version if i'm not wrong... but anyway, u might have a different luck... hopefully... yeah... most probably diff luck... cuz i still can't get Mushkin XP series... this is wat i got... will try lower latency 2nite... QUOTE(TheVoIP @ Aug 29 2007, 05:09 PM) Actually I am ok if I only let me run at 400Mhz, where I can already overclock my C2D into 2.8GHz at 1:1 without any voltage adjustment. Well, maybe I will overclock the RAM a bit... just to round up the C2D figure into 3.0GHz... same here... This post has been edited by t3chn0m4nc3r: Aug 29 2007, 08:06 PM

QUOTE(TheVoIP @ Aug 30 2007, 02:13 PM) Hmmm.. Yet to able to test my new gaming rig... Now what it lacking is the PSU.... Do you think I need 600W+ to push the RAM? Or 400W will do? FYI, I have a 8800GTS 320MB ooo... if ur GC got single 6-pin connector or don have than u can take my Topower(not the Top detergent ) TOP-600-P5 M2 600W PSU... if u wanna upgrade later on than better take Silverstone OP series 800W...
