Hi Sifus,

I am buying a sub-sale condo (less than 500k), I was planning to sign the SPA and everything soon till this budget 2021 come out on MOT waiver.

Scenario: first time home buyer, but previously inherited a house from my deceased relative.

Do I qualify for this scheme? I am considering to delay my purchase till next year January.

If I'm not mistaken, the exemption is for new properties only

Currently still got stamp duty waiver until 31 Dec 2020 but is up to first 300k only for:
- First home buyer
- Property below 500k S&P price
- Must be residential title (not service apartment)

Can be for subsale, lelong or undercon property.
So if you meet the above condition, can consider to proceed. Check with your lawyer too.

If decide to wait for 2021, need to wait for actual pekeliling to see what’s the latest T&C.

I saw this article that it apply to both new and subsale.

https://www.iproperty.com.my/news/stamp-dut...wn-budget-2021/

They did not clarify does inherited property owner counted as first time buyer or not.

'First time home buyer' literally means no prior property ownership, which includes inheritant.
