Why would you want to use open cans for portable? DT770 will be a better choice instead of DT880.
Might want to look at Hifiman RE-0 if you ever decided to use IEMs for portable setup. I've tried them at Jaben and they carry the DT880 'feel'; neutral, detailed, and high treble. But they're out of stock last I checked.

QUOTE(aztoiozalan @ Oct 31 2011, 05:59 PM) congratz man enjoy ur cans, 600 or 250ohm? I think DT880 pro only comes with 250 Ohm. 600 ohm is premium only.

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Nov 18 2011, 04:42 PM) How's pairing the DT880 with the Maverick D1 DAC? Can connect my S730D to it too It's not that great in both aspect of DAC and tube amp, IMO. I meant in terms of synergy with the DT880. But hey, maybe your taste is different. This post has been edited by hahariz: Nov 18 2011, 08:01 PM

If anything I would like my DT880 to have a deeper cup. My ear have been touching the inner foam that's protecting the driver, and it hurts when using it in long hours.

Well, tube does not give that much bass. But I had a Maverick D1 once, had it paired with my Govibe Peak as a pre-amp and still have lots of bass (mainly because of bass boost on the Peak).
There's going to be a DT880 replacement? Dayum, this is not good for my wallet.

IMO you shouldn't worry too much about 'how it's going to sound', especially when you just bought a new pair of headphones. Just enjoy it as it is now and make side/big upgrades when you feel you need to otherwise you'll have big expectations and most of the time you will be disappointed (as in my case) and wasted a lot of money in a very small time frame on amps.
But hey, if you have the extra money why not spend it? I sure do wish I could.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 9 2011, 02:34 PM) yes if AFTER you got the headphone. you should be worrying about it BEFORE you buy the headphone. with shops like jaben around, if you happen to bought the "wrong headphone" of have decision-regrets, then you have no one to blame cept yourself I was referring to amps, and maybe DAC to some extend. And not everyone have the time and luxury to go to Jaben and try out their stuff.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 9 2011, 02:43 PM) switch my keyword headphone to amps then. and yes, if you dont have the time/luxury to test it out, your problem then. ps: jaben doesnt have to be the only place/chance to try out setups, thats what the communities/TTs are for and yes, i've went to a TON of headfi/car ICE TTs I was merely expressing my opinion. No need to be so dense about it.

Given enough volume, I could hear rattling noise from my right driver (DT880). Is it faulty?
I know this could happen if there's hair inside the foam/driver but I do not know how to remove the foam. Any tips?
