If you're willing to go KLCC, they serve claypot chicken rice in the food court of the 2nd floor. No chinese sausage, no charcoal cooking. It's PROBABLY halal...but I wasn't looking for any jakim cert...was looking to fill my stomach. It tasted ok...portion of chicken was generous, juicy and decently marinated...but lacks the proper flavor, richness and aroma of the real thing. It came close though.

QUOTE(mujinkun @ Nov 15 2020, 09:48 PM) just cook it yourself manbuy the claypot, its multi purpose; great for other dishes like noodle soup, steamboat, grilled beef/chicken or even just plain ramen plus, you'll have the option of cooking again in the future wont be worth it if you dont cook that much though, but a claypot is like rm30 which is roughly the price of one meal anyway |

lapcheong is hardly the crucial thing in claypot chicken rice its the sauce and put salted fish will make it better than putting lapcheong

Lapcheong is the reason why you don't need to put too much sauce to give it saltiness, hence which is why you suggested salted fish as alternative. Depending on which type of lapcheong you use, some expert would even go as far as getting premium lapcheong to give the claypot rice more aroma. |

QUOTE(nonamer @ Nov 15 2020, 11:24 PM) lapcheong is not like what luncheon meat and bacon does to fried rice lah...premium lapcheong what nonsense cock I'm a little disappointed that your knowledge of lapcheong is that its only limited to them being pork and generally the same.just like how charsiew does nothing to the taste of wantan mee You could actually get lapcheong made out entirely of duck liver though I can't say its halal since non-pork still need halal butchering to be considered true halal. Depending on lean or fatty meat used to make the lapcheong, also in China different region has their regional way of producing it, you will be surprised of how many varieties of lapcheong are out there. I can tolerate what you said about charsiew does nothing to wantan mee, I have eaten really good claypot rice that absorbs the flavor of good lapcheong even when I didn't included the lapcheong in my bite. |
