If you're willing to go KLCC, they serve claypot chicken rice in the food court of the 2nd floor. No chinese sausage, no charcoal cooking. It's PROBABLY halal...but I wasn't looking for any jakim cert...was looking to fill my stomach. It tasted ok...portion of chicken was generous, juicy and decently marinated...but lacks the proper flavor, richness and aroma of the real thing. It came close though.

just cook it yourself man
buy the claypot, its multi purpose; great for other dishes like noodle soup, steamboat, grilled beef/chicken or even just plain ramen
plus, you'll have the option of cooking again in the future

wont be worth it if you dont cook that much though, but a claypot is like rm30 which is roughly the price of one meal anyway

lapcheong is hardly the crucial thing in claypot chicken rice its the sauce and put salted fish will make it better than putting lapcheong

I disagree. Lapcheong is the reason why you don't need to put too much sauce to give it saltiness, hence which is why you suggested salted fish as alternative.

Depending on which type of lapcheong you use, some expert would even go as far as getting premium lapcheong to give the claypot rice more aroma.
