But just now we were talking about packaging the goods for courier to customers......  biggrin.gif Surely this is done in each country.  laugh.gif

Or u meant the china cheap labor wrongly packed PS5 disc version into black box meant for digital version?  laugh.gif

Nah, done by Foxconn in China

If come out from China, not affected by Trump's policy of super high tax when shipped to US? hmm.gif
*
this 1 not too sure. either Foxconn already moved the volume intended for US shipment to other countries like Vietnam. or Sony absorbed the tariff cost in the short-term

On the other hand, I know for sure Foxconn is moving some (20-30%) Nintendo Switch volume to Malaysia

I think his assumption is wrong. Based on what we know from here

1. Harvey Norman - 50 units for ALL their chain store
2. SenHeng, Senq - most likely similar to HN situation
3. Sony Stores - I think EVERY of their authorized stores allocated between 100-200 units easily
4. Heavy-Arm, Impulse, Gamer Hideout - I won't be surprised they get more than 200 units because of their # of stores and customer base. Impulse put 25 units on Shopee, then others thru their various branch in JB, Seremban, Sunway. Heavy-Arm only put 10 units on their website (quietly at 3am) but I believe they have a lot of waiting list to fulfill
5. Smaller gameshop - I don't remember seeing any of them revealing their allocated stocks. Personal opinion is that 200 units for a gameshop in Klang Valley is not impossible

Alfa Gamers - 50 units (40 disc + 10 digital)

seems like HG created a private group (HG x PS5) and share a PDF of the successful PO. hence the 200 units outrage by that guy in FB

let's see if really all 200 of them can get their units in 1st day.

EDIT: From a FB comment. HG customer here, I was told my pre order ps5 is not 100% getting it in the first day. According to HG, they consider first batch of PS 5 from 11/12/2020 to 11/1/2021

Kinda low effort reply from Sony to be honest. Didn’t even bother to capitalise initial of Gamers Hideout

Folks, guess what, another update from my friend, regarding the "glitch" he experienced with the online PO.

12/11 - My friend received a call saying his order did not go through though payment made, so he being offered either 1) refund or 2) put into waiting list of 2nd batch (guarantee dapat!! though no tentative date when 2nd batch will be coming)

13/11 - Received email from Sony on the same topic, being asked either to pick option 1 or 2. My friend replied with option 2 the same day.

16/11 - Received this reply:

Now, Sony didn't even want to offer to put into 2nd batch, straight doing refund to you regardless.  whistling.gif

1) FYI, the transaction time of payment was made at "12-Nov-2020 12:00:51 AM" @ ipay88.
2) The bold statement was not in the 1st email but appeared in today's email...  hmm.gif

So now we have 12:03 payment that is confirmed.
And a 12:00:5 payment that has been cancelled.

This 'software glitch' seems to be quite random. Almost as if its not first come first serve.

at least they have a choice. gh no choice. you want ps5 from gh? buy bundle with conman special MCO delivery at RM300.
*
to be fair, I believe the MCO delivery fee is an error la. I saw that too, but there's a lot other options that cost much less.

I am actually fine with PWP but what GH did is too excessive.

Bundle PS5 game - ok
Mystery Pack games - wtf is this shit?
Accessories - force u to take 2 or higher value accessories. some more it's 3rd party.

the thing is, gh doesn't offer consumers a choice to purchase ps5 by itself.

that's they why they kena saman by sony malaysia. if they offer people a choice, nobody will complain.
*
Confirm kena saman by Sony Malaysia liao meh?

if they offer plain vanilla PS5, obviously nobody will buy the PWP. Not because PWP sucks, but because there is very little time to waste to click through bundles and options in order to secure a unit.

Imagine if their PWP 'force' you take 2 official PS accessories + 1 PS5 game + PSN (or whatever), you think ppl will complain like right now? They will be freaking happy if they manage to secure a unit from GH, even with PWP.

I think people's gripe with them is that they didn't reveal this before PO. A lot people probably thought ok la.. don't need go Sony or other sstores.. "buy from GH cos convenient for me etc" .. Then when they finally slog through their website get faced with that shit. At that point you are practically... "yeah it's like that lor.. now 12pm lor you want buy from us or not? Most places sold out already la.. you think fast ah". At that point from my POV feels like an intentional planned ambush at the customers.
As for the technical error, what doesn't make sense to me is this. People said it was rm 150 for peninsular and rm300 for sabah and sarawak correct? (originally la). If it is an error how did it even happen?  Did the page admin just pull rm 300 out of their ass? Aren't these numbers pre-approved ?

Also notice that they have not posted on their page that this is a technical error (the shipping charges) ask people to arrange for refund on that etc.. seems fishy to me..
p/s: this whole thing really no skin off my back because I never planned to get from them. It was shopee/senq/impulse for me..  but I just find the whole thing weird and I think GH are handling it like lil b*
*
Ya meh? I thought everyone should at least realise that pre-ordering from online store is a hit or miss because of the massive traffic. Where got "I rather wait for GH pre-order online than going to Sony Stores to PO"

As for the MCO RM150 technical error, what I vaguely remember the options are like

Option 1. RM150 MCO delivery
Option 2. Grab Delivery / Lalamove
The rest - Self-collect at their various stores

Initially I thought the RM150 is mandatory surcharge, but then can click away. So i also no idea why they put the RM150 option for. Unless they want to trap unsuspicious buyers? icon_idea.gif

Yeah some more  that is just the sony page admin.. i doubt they can accurately talk about company handling of this etc..

What people can do is just stop buying from them .. So many game stores with better trained staff and no shady stuff like these.
*
It's either from a comment (don't know buried where) or a reply in FB Messenger.

Not even an official announcement or notice on their FB page

Yep I was on shopee sony store, then checked other shops nothing, so randomly saw Senq and at the time was out of stock also. It came in-stock after a reload before going to sleep haha.

Anybody know what time did Senq actually open the items for PO was it 12am sharp or sometime after that ?
*
Senheng (should be same as SenQ) opened around 12am, then briefly out-of-stock. then got stock back for a short while

I think nobody knew they are doing pre-orders as well, so their website didn't crash
