Guys wta, websites are not listed as apps and should not be a problem being used in the new M1 macbooks right???
Example share market websites, should be working perfectly on the new Macs ???
*
you can test your website with iPad/iPhone.

If your iPad safari can open, meaning the MacBook can open. Hope this helps.

Initially want to get hp envy 13 but after seeing all the review might as well topup a "bit" and get M1 macbook air instead.

Microsoft productivity software is avaliable right? It's been a long time since I last use Mac. That time use boot camp to load up windows. So not sure what is the current scenarios.

Do I need to have something like boot camp or does the software (office) natively available?
*
Microsoft 365 is available as in native app....but you need to pay lah.

update:

this is the new video on Microsoft Office Suite --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKl4_4fBp7I

Hi sifu,

i was planning to get macbook pro 16" for week, but my friend said better wait for the macbook pro 13" M1, because almost half the price but same performance lol.

but i read online review a lot ppl mention due to the thunderbolt and usb port. m1 macbook pro only allow to use 1 external screen. may i know if i buy those wavlink or caldigit docking station can i use 2 external monitor? because my work require me to use 2 screen most of the time.. currently using asus tug 27" and acer 34".

thank in advance.
*
m1 MBP can connect up to 6 screens if you want. since you already have screens, why not Mac mini? same powerful and much lower price..XD

Odd question here, but does anyone uses Pixelmator Pro as opposed to Lightroom?

Can't install cracked Lightroom so looking for alternatives edit photos and colour correct (mainly for casual edits) + i saw Pixelmator can enhance resolution through Machine Learning!
*
inside Mac now built-in Lightroom-like Photo app

I tried to install LR 2020 but i think the cracked version didnt work, same goes to Photoshop 2020, had to go for photoshop 2019 (which works now)
Thank you! will check them out!

I do occasionally use the Photos app to colour correct a little bit, its just i saw pixelmator have the sharpen resolution tool which is pretty cool haha!
*

guys, overall M1 or intel better? i scared if pick M1, some of my compilers or apps does not support.. + external monitor it only supports 1
*
buy M1 and keep your old MacBook.

if new m1 not support the compilers, still can move to old MacBook.

say if you really dun like m1 at all, just sell it 2nd hand, I am sure many ppl will ask. you won't lose much.

Hi, plan to grab my 1st MacBook/mini. Got some stupid questions on MacOS

1. Do You all install antivirus? (There are two opinions, some said need some said need not)

2. What antivirus you use?

3. What casing you use for MacBook? Any side effect for MacBook? Like overheat, crack screen or etc

4. How long your MacBook battery can survive? What is the cost for battery replacement?

Thank you
*
1. Nope.
2. No antivirus, I dun think it is required.
3. no casing, no overheat, no crack screen.
4. 2 hours zoom only take 15% juice. not sure about batter replacement cost.

if you worry, better to pray the battery rosak and the screen crack during the warranty period, then you can claim the free replacement.

Read from somewhere the battery usually end up their life within 2-3 years of use. Ya, might purchase apple care and hope can change battery before out of warranty . Haha
*
errrr....I dun think so....I think it can last until 5 years. Still better than ACER/DELL battery. lol

ps: my MBA 2017 battery still work great after 3-4 years...

BTW, now I see a lot so called "anti-virus" software push for VPN as part of security. I'm not sure but I have iCloud+ with that "free VPN" on safari. That is useful for anti-tracking. Now it only works on my iPhone & iPad, I think very soon it will work for MacBook safari too.

In general, I don't think there is a needs for anti-virus software, unless you are really not sure what you connect with....also you tempt to log-in, subscribe and download a lot of pxrn website....

New MBP rumour has it there will be a notch for the webcam on the screen. Probably it would come to the future MBA as well?  hmm.gif

I don't get why when apple released the M1, they basically put the same chip on the higher end MBP. Performance so close with the MBA which makes the MBP look overpriced.
*
Technology limitation. For now, my guess will be Apple will stack the M1 chip transistors to give more performance. Aside from CPU & GPU power, M1 also have 16-core neural engine, which can do ML and imaging processing faster, I think this Neural Engine maybe will greatly improvised in the new MBP.

the breakthrough from mobile ARM to use in laptop already blowing my mind. I never ever thought that ARM can be use in a complex computing like a personal computer.

Easily more than 5 years unless you abuse it.

Yeah, I think so. Going to 5 years very soon and the battery still good.

i thought if put keyboard protector will risk cracking the screen? never put any for that reason...casing wise TPU rubber/silicone case will provide some protection... or the hard casing..
i dont mind the notch if it comes with one, bored with current design they've been using forever sweat.gif
*
why bored with the design? the best things is, you know the MacBook you bought not so easily outdated mah (in terms of design)....still cool when you bring around..

if every year they change design, I will not support them liao.

Now I find windows laptop really not worth the money, unless you are gamers. right?

1. aluminium body, slim, light weight
2. good speaker & mic
3. good powerful processor
4. easy to use and can sync with iPhone
5. 2k resolution screen and color p3

Sometime play some outdated game like Red Alert 3. LOL

Plan to move to MacBook because of the battery life and super fast M1. Last year already want to move after seeing M1 MacBook but out of budget, and 13” too small plus without numpad. Any numpad accessories in the market suitable for MacBook?

Regarding M1 SSD problem already solved?
*
don't kidding me la bro, m1 Mac very cheap wey.....at the same price, you cannot get the same spec like M1 Mac oh...btw, are you plan to use for accounting? I didn't use a lot numpad, no idea, but full keyboard is available from Apple.com or Logitec Mac keyboard.
