Hahaha... I like how he didn't flinch at all when posting "collect from Mac City".. He does realise people can buy directly from Mac City cheaper right? Times are bad, bro. Even scalpers need to earn some money.
A friend of mine posted this article on FB and shared the author's viewpoint that Malaysians are still spending money on "insanely expensive" iPhones despite the tough economy. I told him off privately - Not everyone is affected the same way by the pandemic, some businesses are booming, some are making more money now than compared to before the pandemic, hahaha. Point being as long as you know what you can afford and you spend within your means, then you should be fine.
Thanks all for sharing your experience. Maybe I should reinstall the app again. Hmm.. I use MAE to replace M2U and my other 8 banking apps (MAE includes) have no issue with Face ID just SCB. Alright, at least I'm not alone and will reinstall again to check it out.
CIMB app also have issue with Face ID on 12. No matter how many times I reset and set it up again, it still asks for password rather than use Face ID
I have just tried CIMB, it works well. Reinstallation SCB app doesn’t help, I guess I’ll need to check with CS. Wah, that’s really bad...
Thanks for the information - My app did not work at all after trying to reconfigure Face ID within the app. I had to delete the app, install it back and reconfigure everything again and now it works normally.
Our iphone comes with free apple tv. So I subscribe as it is free for a year. But when to watch movie, there are 2 options either buy or rent. What does it mean? Isn’t we already got free subscription to watch all movie?
AppleTV+ that is free for 1 year is only the Apple Originals (scroll down and you will see the Discover AppleTV+ icon). The other movies/shows are sold/rentable via the iTunes store - need to pay to watch.
Sad story today, sleep with my phone on the bed, accidentally knocked my phone down to the floor, wanna cry cos I’m yet to put any casing 😭 luckily no dent.
Sorry to hear this. Lesson learned - next time just get cheapo cover / tempered glass for temporary use while waiting for your preferred brand/model. Not so great protection, is still protection
Now I know how important is VoLTE for Dual Sim Dual Standby (DSDS) phones such as iPhone 12. My Maxis is not VoLTe enabled (yet), but my Celcom is VoLTE enabled. When I make a call on Maxis, Celcom immediately goes inactive. When I make a call on Celcom, Maxis stays active. This is due to Celcom making a “data/packet switching call” on VoLTE, and Maxis still has to rely on normal circuit switching.
When Maxis has enabled VoLTE for me, iPhone behaves like a Dual Sim Full Active (DSFA) phone when I have both Celcom & Maxis on 4G network.
VoWifi > all. hahaha. i do hope Celcom will offer Vowifi. Been very useful with Digi ones especially place without coverage
I also want! But VoLTE is it with Celcom and Maxis - already took too long la. I almost wanted to MNP to Digi, but decided against it as bad reception in places I frequent, and not all places have Wifi to save me.
Yeah, I did and it is travelling from Vietnam as of now. It is so stupid that it travelled from Singapore to China then China to Vietnam. I hope it doesn't end up on the other side of the Earth and then it comes to Malaysia. That's just a waste of fuel and making global warming worse.
Depends. If they already have firm logistics routes, it is more efficient and less fuel used than sending directly to each country.
Stick by the delivery dates and don’t be too hopeful that they will deliver earlier than that. But I don’t think they travelled from Singapore if via UPS. If DHL, usually yes, originate from Singapore.
Singapore is Apple regional HQ and Apple Store Malaysia is managed by Singapore office. They create the label from Singapore, but it will be shipped from China. Hence you will see the weird logistics you see if it’s shipped via UPS going the long route. I bought a few items and it’s shipped via DHL, and can see it originated from Singapore, direct to Subang.
Now on phone itself, doesn’t show if it’s Malaysia set. The box however, will tell you if it’s a Malaysia set due to Apple Malaysia address printed on it.
Any issues with signal strength/reception and wifi speed as with iphone 11?
Drop calls/zoom dc?
Read about the quality issue of iphones in the android section. I'm surprised
Just had 2 long Microsoft Teams meeting - no issues whatsoever. Used both 4G and WiFi for the same meeting - travelled from one place to another while on the meeting. No disconnection and seamless transition from WiFi - 4G - WiFi. Not sure that was the “quality issue” android owners are raising about phones they don’t even own
Iphone 11 use intel modem which had the issues with 4G & wifi. Iphone 12 use qualcomm modem, which fellow lyn members said no issues =)
There's one article online I found, signal strength no longer an issue too in iphone 12
Oh, you were referring to the previous iPhones on Intel modem. Yeah, those were pretty OK, but not at the same level of Qualcomm modem. The LTE performance jump from my previous iPhone X and even Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos) was superb. See here in my previous post https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=98929685 no slow LTE now, unless the network itself is congested of course
