Ramming the factory could kill or injured innocent, they have family too. They have loan to pay and have family to go back to.

He is not a law abiding person.
Ramming the factory again and again.There are channel to go if factory is wrong at sacking him.

He is a violent person.
Ramming factory could be in the heat of the moment, finding bottle, go petrol station to pump petrol and make Molotov ..  that's premeditated.

He feel entitled.

I guess the worst psychological torture is when you have spent so many years contributing your efforts building up a dept from scratch and developing various key products for the company earning millions . You have ZERO misconduct from the first day in your records, never late to work and never did anything bad against the company's code of conduct?

Some newcomer supervisor/manager who is placed in charge of you, badmouths about you behind your back in front of the management board to remove you so that he can bring in his own people.

How do you feel when you're called by HR to be informed about your dismissal by framing you with misconducts and accusations?

After all the years of hard work you put in , they made you look like a bad staff who cheated the company and told to leave?

If you're not prepared it can be very soul crushing and degrading to a person.Worst when you are already burdened by family commitments and debt.

No one is asking employers to bend over backwards for employees. Treat them decently especially if they are long serving staff and they will reciprocate. Remunerate them fairly based on the free market and they wont complain. If they're problem workers deal with them early based on your HR rules and guidelines. I've worked in an org that was lowly motivated and one that is highly motivated. Its night and day.

I think i'm reasonably senior in my org, its an European manufacturing co and no we dont do this shit here nor the rest you mentioned. Not on my watch nor that of my colleagues. We treat staff right and we are 99.9% local Malaysian of all races workforce. Small comfort but at least do know there are good ppl out there
I think its more of showing to shareholders short term results. CEOs and by extension the team are rewarded by shareholders. Show them a good return regardless how it was achieved like cutting cost for example, and shareholders will be happy. When shit hits the fan and company suffers because too many ppl has left, core businesses losses competitiveness because of cost cutting, its too late. Said CEO might have already jumped ship and used his "track record" to score another gig. Sadly thats how the world works, at least the corporate world
